I feel like we are going to Goodison at exactly the wrong time, bit like what Everton had going to Newcastle.

It's Lampard's first home league game, no disrespect to the FA Cup game v Brentford but this is a different kettle of fish. You'd imagine the fans will try to make Goodison like a bear pit, there will be a fresh expectancy now, especially having Alli and Van de Beek most likely starting and Calvert-Lewin will no doubt be fit.

I think we put a lot into that Villa game in midweek, and as fit a team as we are, I think it might catch up with us here.

Really could have done with Phillips for this one but we'll have to make do.

The only consoling facts is Everton look far from solid at the back, you'd think we'll get chances and Raphinha usually likes playing them, so after a poor game midweek I hope he finds form again.

Hopefully the link up play between Dan James, Rodrigo, Harrison and Raphinha can cause as much carnage as it did to Villa's backline Wednesday, especially James. He's really finding his feet with us now he's working under a proper coach.

A few surprises in our line up. Going off the order here, it looks like we might have Gordon loosely playing as left wing back. He's got good legs and he tracks back well, it might work.

Pickford

Coleman Keane Holgate

Kenny Allan VDB Gordon

Iwobi DCL Richarlison

Either that, or swap Iwobi and Gordon, or it's a change of formation, maybe even to a 442?

Very good half from us, steady or better from every single player out there and we're winning everything, especially in their half.

I'll be honest though, Leeds have been poor yet they've still hit the woodwork twice, more through two very good efforts than overall good play, but still, they're a threat in the final third when they manage to get up there. I expect more from them in the second half, this defence are prone to switch off and become a liability in the blink of an eye and there's been some signs lately of Pickford having his first 'silly' patch for a little while. We aren't out of the woods, but so far, so good.

Seeing Vieira, Gerrard and Lampard (imo the 3 best midfielders in the league of that era) all be managers in the league makes me feel older than Gandalf.

Agreed about them being the best 3, said this for many many years.

Do all of you drama Kings and Queens still think Everton are in a fierce relegation battle and may go down?

Not a chance at all they'll go down. They've looked a completely different team under Lampard. The Newcastle game was more about Newcastle, that win and performance for them had been coming for weeks.

How many points will they pick up in their next four games? I'll go one.

Errr, the Newcastle game was his second in charge and Everton were dogshit. As they have been for like 3 months or more. They were 3 points above the relegation zone after that loss at St. James, so I don’t get where this “drama queens” comment comes from.

If Lampard takes us on even a half-decent run the Rafa-bumming Reds crying into their corn flakes about it are going to make it all the sweeter so keep it up lads.

We'll be 40-50 points ahead of Everton come the end of the season, I doubt any of us will be crying over Everton.
