Michael
Frankfurt have the advantage of that great 2-1 away win over the Hammers in the 1st leg. They will be playing in front of their own fans this evening against a determined West Ham team that has nothing to lose. The Hammers will naturally look to score a goal as soon as possible, to level up the aggregate scores, but Frankfurt will equally be ready to hit West Ham on the break. This should be another tantalising EL semi-final and how it plays out will be very interesting.

Thought it might have been the other way round... I am sure if West Ham go out tonight they will be keen to repay the hospitality in kind... Michael
Well away from the thuggish fans, both sides will be kicking of this semi-final in a quarter of an hour's time. West Ham's line-up is kind of what was expected, but Hauge starts for Frankfurt in place of the injured Lindstrom.

Moderator Tommy Posted May 5, 2022 Moderator Share Posted May 5, 2022 Hinteregger already injured. That's a blow for Frankfurt. edit: He's trying to continue. edit: That attempt was not succesful.

Moderator Tommy Posted May 5, 2022 Moderator Share Posted May 5, 2022 Red card for West Ham. Cresswell fouls Hauge who would have been clear through to the goal.

Rab
How good are Frankfurt? Obviously to be in the final they must be pretty good but the table says otherwise and we've already beat Dortmund and Shitzig.

Obviously to be in the final they must be pretty good but the table says otherwise and we've already beat Dortmund and Shitzig. Their European season has been very good. They were deserving the ir win at the Camp Nou (if anything the score line flattered Barcelona and were the better team versus them at home as well e.g.). Wouldn't read too much into the table position , if I were you. Bayern aside Buli is one of the most competetives leagues there are. The difference in level between Dortmund and them is much smaller, than that between Bayern and Dortmund. On a side note. the Premier league is better known in Germany than the Buli in the UK and most Germans saw Frankfurt as slight favorites in their matches versus WUFC. Rab
Fair enough. Should be a good final then.
Michael
This was a great win by Frankfurt and they deserve their place in the final. Borre scored the only goal of the game, to add to their 1st leg lead. Frankfurt had reached the semis of the Europa League in 2019 and now they've reached the final. It promises to be a big game against Rangers in the final in Seville. Michael
Hinteregger will sadly miss the Europa League final against Rangers and the rest of the Bundesliga season. Hinteregger picked up a muscle injury against West Ham in the semi-final yesterday and he will be out of the final in a big blow for Frankfurt. Hinteregger to miss the rest of the season (bulinews.com)
