Dr. Gonzo
Lol I don’t know what’s worse, EVH being only #17 or Johnny Ramone even being on the list

Technical, creativity, catchiness? I like creativity, so for me EVH is no more interesting with his guitar work than Johnny Ramone but both are better than Clapton who is a hack. I actually probably like The Edge and Tom Morello on this list because while they may be one trick pony’s their trick is iconic, creative, and much more interesting than Clapton ripping off the blues for 60 years. The list doesn’t evn have Johnny Marr ffa

Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted October 30, 2022 Subscriber Share Posted October 30, 2022 Phew what a list. I think if you're going to have greatest of all time and not have Satch, Gilbert, Johnson, Vai and Petrucci in there you've missed a beat. They may be very niche, but they offer something the rest don't which is the ability to swing styles very easily and I'd put Petrucci on top of that list out of them all with Vai/Johnson coming in second for understanding tonal range better than anyone on that T40 list. But I suppose all T40s really are just subjective.

Devil-Dick Willie
I think the most criminally underrated there is Knopfler. Randy Rhoads deserves to be there.

Although Ritchie Blackmore at 38 is pretty mental to me - maybe he's the most underrated, Knopfler's up there though... but I think this list is an absolute abomination

Mustaine had/has the habit of lashing out at everyone around him no matter if he's to blame so I wouldn't really take that song seriously.
