Also never assume wealthy people are smart. It's often inherited (Musk, Dan Bilzerian, and every arab tycoon and generational family) or survivorship bias is blocking your view of reality.

If 50 members of this forum saved 10k each, went to a casino and placed 7 black/red bets on roulette in any order of our preference, using our whole stack each time, doubling it each time, it's likely one or two of us walk out a millionaire. (1 in 127 will make it, and variance will account for a greater or worse rate of success)

People see the rich who 'timed the market' or 'risked it all and made it big' and don't see the thousands who never made it.

Stop upsetting the Libertarians. They are sensitive to these sort of things.

Elon musk does not have any generational talent, unless you count manipulating markets without SEC intervention as a talent. He was the son of a super wealthy family who purchased an electric car company at the right time.

No, he was good at engineering. What you've said is also true.

He's not even an engineer dude.

Same as saying computer science is also not engineering, which it is.

He doesn't have a degree in either one of those. He
He has invented nothing. He owns a company which hires engineers which develop his ideas. This is why so many ideas he has have made little to no progress ( men on mars, space x on the moon in 2024, self driving cars, hyperloop) or are shit ideas that have 0 practical use ( rocket travel from point to point, single lane tunnels for teslas ect)

I am sure he understands some development, as he helped make a video game. I am also sure he understands some engineering terms and fundimentals. However, he is not an engineer, he has invented 0 things. Educate yourself.

Such a poor way of thinking of how modern organizations work, they are involvement oriented and skills oriented. Not command and job.

You haven’t spent a lot of time around Americans, I can tell.

Yes.

I really doubt that Pichai spends his days writing code, and the Chief Administrator of NASA is a military politician.

A lawyer has been a chief of NASA.

So has a nazi.

Nazis were efficient engineers, many of the modern technologies in weaponry and aerospace are thanks to them. There is a reason why America preferred to air lift them escaping justice than letting their talent go to waste, the moral aspect of it aside.

I didn't say otherwise. At last Von Braun was actually an architect and engineer.
