The notion that 5 matches in the United States is where things will turn around is something I will brush off. More to a preseason than friendlies
Bluewolf Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Sometimes you need a bit of luck to turn things around and then suddenly the season can end on a high if we could cobble together some results but the problem is you need to be creative to get those slices of luck and we are not showing anything in the final third at all... You can see the heads dropping when we concede and we don't have those fighting qualities needed to claw our way back into games.. The longer this bad run continues the worse it will get and if Potter can't lift the players or make the right tactical changes that make us more of a threat then it's going to be a poor end to what has been a dismal season for us. Again, if these are Potter approved signings then he must have had a plan on how he saw that working?? We have not shown even the slightest improvement so far which is worrying..
Cicero Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 This goes past Potter. Should of never been appointed. Financial ruin is my biggest worry and Boehly's actions over the summer have taken us 5 steps backwards.

Acting as director of football and getting Tuchel's targets, only to then sack Tuchel and appoint Potter (who has no credible milestones to his name) to such an important job with such a ridiculous expensive contract has hindered all the good we did November-January in restructuring the club. Unless there is some termination clause in Potter's contract or the club put him on gardening leave, it'll cost 60m to sack him. The footballing decisions should be made by the genuine long term visionaries at the club, which is Christopher Vivell, Joe Shields, and Laurence Stewart. Hindsight is a bitch and even though I believe Tuchel wouldn't of worked out in the end, we should of given him until after the World Cup.

Tar-Mairon Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Great win for us but yeah, Chelsea look in full blown crisis. This isn't just a blip, it's relegation form. Obviously, they won't go down unless something ridiculous happens and the personal abuse Potter has taken is disgusting but it's so absolutely clear that he's not the right manager for Chelsea. He finished 15th and 16th in his first two seasons with Brighton, which seemed more impressive than Chris Hughton because he did it prettier. He did well to finish 9th last season but he does seem very much a streaky manager who has very heavy losing streaks. He'd shown nothing to actually show he was ready to manage a big club yet some have been fooled. We were interested in him, Chelsea got him and he's been found out.
6666 Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Hate what Emerson Royal did. Proper coward stuff. Instigating and then playing victim. Glad the referee showed some common sense and withdrew the red.
Tar-Mairon Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 He's been dogshit since he joined us, scraping the barrel bad. He was pitched out of the team last season, Doherty started playing well, got injured and never recovered it at the start of the season with neither of them holding it down. Now, suddenly, we've signed a 45 million player, he's had a couple of decent-ish games and now he's trying to shithouse for us. The trouble is he's not very good at it. Sprinting halfway across the pitch to barge a player in a situation you have nothing to do with is just idiotic. I had no complaints that it was rescinded.

Best to stay out of this one Don't try and play this whole condescending "best you stay out of this" nonsense. Such an embarrassing cunt response. Trying to paint Saka and Nketiah as dickheads is hilarious as well. Wish they actually weren't as nice as they are. Especially Saka. And you have Richarlison in your team. Nothing more has to be said. A Tottenham fan defending Emerson Royal is something new though. So I guess that's nice.

Pretty pathetic. But that’s what football these days. That’s the point. Every team has them. Just silly point scoring when you look across the league and it happens up and down the country. You can’t respond without throwing around insults either which just shows a lot about your character.
Storts Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Great to bounce back the way we did after the Leicester debacle. Two big home wins in London derbies although to be honest couldn’t have really asked for easier games. As soon as we scored today that was it. Chelsea never looked like scoring. The worst and most dysfunctional chelsea team I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t know what Potter is trying to do with them but even after all the money spent there’s some players in that lineup too. Wolves next week for us is going to be a test. Unfortunately Conte is due back so I’m not confident but players like Skipp and Royal are really stepping up with the injury absences and the Porro signing. Royal is playing a lot more central and giving Kulu space out wide and it’s working better. Romero has been unbelievable last few weeks too. Imperious. A lot more tests to come and to be honest we are a very inconsistent team but we’ve got a reasonable run over the next month so need to capitalise before a tough April. Sheffield United on weds is a must win
