It has been reported that Manchester City have agreed personal terms with RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol ahead of a potential transfer.

This comes from Fabrizio Romano, after it was previously claimed that the 21-year-old himself is ‘keen’ on signing for the treble-winners.

If this deal goes through, it will make Gvardiol the world's most expensive defender ever. It's a huge transfer fee that Man City are said to be paying.

It is a huge fee but seems to be the norm now for the top young talent

To call the highest fee ever paid for a defender the norm is more than just a bit of a stretch. Don't you think?

Not really. Seems to be 40m starting price for any above average player nowadays.

Manchester City have submitted an offer of €90m plus bonuses to RB Leipzig for Joško Gvardiol, according to Sky Germany.

Both clubs have been negotiating a transfer in the recent days and now the Premier League side have submitted an improved offer for the Croatian defender, who would become the most expensive defender. Per the report, Leipzig question whether Manchester City’s latest offer is one they can’t refuse.

This comes after Manchester City agreed personal terms with Gvardiol, who is Pep Guardiola’s desired player for central-defence. The 21-year-old signed a contract extension with Leipzig last summer following interest from Chelsea, which includes an exit clause of €110m, but that doesn’t come into play until 2024.

Josko Gvardiol tells RB Leipzig that he wants Manchester City transfer

Branded as ‘phenomenal’ by Mateo Kovacic, the highly-rated central defender, it was reported on Sunday that City had tabled a £77.3 million offer to secure his services.

While it was also claimed that the treble-winners were willing to pay as much as £103.2 million to sign the Croatian colossus.

Now, a claim has indeed been made that Josko Gvardiol himself has informed RB Leipzig that he intends to leave the club in favour of a move to Manchester City.

Manuel Akanji - £15m

Nathan Ake - £40m

John Stones - £50m

Aymeric Laporte - £57m

Ruben Dias - £70m

These are the CBs already in their squad and the amount they've spent on them. The Akanji signing was a shrewd one by their standards but the level of investment (illegal investment) in the Man City squad is insane. It's why we have to spend £100m on a player like Rice, who's very good but not a top 5 player in the world, just to try and sign him. These lot can spend £90m in a position they don't really need to strengthen and they don't really need to care about it working. Bring back Mangala.

You lot think Haaland cost 2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps. Let’s not talk about payments to agents, fathers, wives, uncles and shares in various businesses 😂

What ever we paid for Haaland in total was an absolute steal with his market value being over 200million

One of the best young defenders in world football. This would be a great signing.

Pep's going to have him playing in midfield too like Stones. 86m is a lot but the other top 4 clubs out spend us so about time we caught up

Manchester City are set to hold a fresh round of talks with a view to signing Joško Gvardiol, according to reports.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that the Premier League champions have scheduled a new round of talks, with the aim of progressing a deal for the Croatia international. City's 'initial approach' saw a €75million fee plus add-ons rejected, with the Bundesliga side said to be after a massive €100m.

HB right again B|

Leipzig's sport director Max Eberl disputed Romano's claim City and bullshit had reached an agreement on the fee. Indeed he said both parties were far apart in their assesments to German media.

Although I still believe Gvardiol will sign for City in the end, there's a small odd you might be as right as you were in regards of Bellingham.
