Administrator Stan Posted July 29, 2024 Administrator Posted July 29, 2024 Quote Chelsea have backed new manager Enzo Maresca with six new signings already but the Blues’ transfer business is far from done this summer. Maresca is still keen to strengthen in several key areas ahead of the coming season in which he will be tasked with taking Chelsea back towards the top of the Premier League table. According to reports from Italy, Chelsea have opened talks with the agents of Juventus star Federico Chiesa, who has been linked with Tottenham and Arsenal recently. As we exclusively revealed weeks ago, Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, has been offering the Italian international to clubs in the Premier League. Ramadani has now travelled to London to hold further talks with various clubs, and will make it clear that his next club must offer him a £130,000 per week contract. The Italian side could allow the 26-year-old to leave for as little as £20m and that represents a bargain for a player of his quality. Dr. Gonzo Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 He was brilliant a few years ago in that one tournament, one bad injury and a couple smaller ones and it's a bit mental to see how far his stock has fallen. I wonder if he's now too injury prone to have that bright future it looked like he would have. For £15m though... he's worth a punt. Can probably have a bit of a Shaqiri effect for us off the bench and gives us a bit of cover for Salah. Quote

Rick Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 For the price you can’t argue. Was worth five times that amount about 18 months back. Quote

BUT he was coming off an huge season, didnt he finish up there in Ballon 'dor voting too? The dropoff was not really to be expected. Either way pretty low risk, shrewd signing. Dave Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 He's not been the same since his injury, so I wouldn't have the expectations of seeing the same player that was excellent just before and during the covid era. Which given the fee I wouldn't expect any of you to have anyway. Hopefully he remains injury free and you get a good impact player. Quote
