Gunnersaurus Posted November 26 Posted November 26 @Happy Blue How did you loose 4.1 to this lot? Did your players go on the piss the night before? Quote
Administrator Stan Posted November 26 Author Administrator Posted November 26 Man City 3-0 up. Feyenoord come back in the second half to level it up! Quote
Gunnersaurus Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Brilliant performance tonight. When we have everyone fit we are very good. Sporting were poor but still a great result Quote

I don't think that's necessarily true. Certainly Liverpool would be big favourites. But city wiped out an 8 point lead against us and Liverpool in previous seasons. A few injuries a bit of mental and physical fatigue and city could catch them. Plus Liverpool would still have to go to city. Quote

That could all change if they sign some players in January, of course. Anyway, a win would be great tonight to see us almost there in terms of top 8 and would love to dent Madrid's chances at the same time. Have to say, I'm only arsed about City on Sunday though. Nice position to be in after having such a good start in the CL I suppose. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted November 27 Subscriber Posted November 27 I think Arsenal if anyone are the ones who will be positioned to challenge for the league if/when Liverpool have a dip in form. City look absolutely hopeless and blowing a 3-0 lead at home to a team who (no disrespect) are not an elite opponent just smacks of a broken team and that isn't getting fixed overnight. Sometimes a team can get a result like that after suffering a real shock to the system but they're running out of opportunities to use one of these results to spark their season into life. That's their reaction to getting humbled 4-0 at home to Spurs? It's not the reaction of a team that's positioned to get 21 wins and 2 draws from Christmas to the end of the season like they usually do. Quote

And if you get a few injuries leads can be wiped out very quickly. But I think it's very unlikely we can can catch you. Quote
Gunnersaurus Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Does anyone else think one issue City have is they can't play shit and win? It's normally not a problem because they rarely play shit. The thing is with arsenal and Liverpool is they can play badly and get outplayed but still win. I don't know if City can do that. We use to have that problem under wenger. Even when we were challenging and even winning titles we normally had to outplay our openent. Which you can't always do. Under arteta we can play badly which happens to all teams but still win. Quote

Unless there's long-term injuries to Salah or Van Dijk or Alexander-Arnold (or a combination) I can't see them being getting overtaken, even this early in the season. Quote

We can't do our high press while we have no cover in midfield and all the CB's injured or playing injured, we are getting destroyed on the counter attacks. if Pep let's his ego rule his head we are in for a rough 6 weeks until we can bring in a midfield in Jan and maybe a CB & RB with a striker so Haaland can get a rest Quote

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted November 27 Subscriber Posted November 27 Steve McManaman is so grating. Makes Jamie Carragher sound like Morgan Freeman. And this is from someone who is unsurprisingly very tolerant of scouse accents. Quote
Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted November 27 Subscriber Posted November 27 Press harder at the start of the second half and we can win this. I wouldnt put it past this Madrid team to sneak a goal in and go up a level towards the middle of the second half. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted November 27 Subscriber Posted November 27 Mbappe has been so bad that Liverpool's understudy right back has basically just gone lol I'm gonna leave him and play up front. Quote
