Aston Villa can confirm the club will part company with John Terry.

We would like to place on record our most sincere thanks for the effort and professionalism he showed with us last season.

John is a true leader and was everything and more that we hoped.  Hugely popular and influential in the dressing room, he played a real captain’s role in creating the incredible bond the players shared with our supporters, and vice-versa.

We hope he looks back on his time with Villa fondly and we wish him the very best as his career moves forward.

If he wants to play on then I can see him getting a one year contract at one of the smaller Premier League teams. Somewhere like Bournemouth.

If Derby weren't cost cutting than would seem an obvious fit to become a player coach or something for Lampard

Would like to see this.

Terry already stated he's ruled out playing for another club in the Premier league.

Rangers could be another possible? Will have played with Gerrard numerous times, it’ll win over fans more and he should still be able to take the piss in Scotland at the age of 37/38.

If John Terry wants to not play against Chelsea then he might as well sign a five year deal at Derby.

China? Japan? MLS? Or elsewhere?

MLS would be my guess. Think it's more appealing at his age than China although admittedly the money in China is mental.

I quite like the Rangers shout.

I am told Jody Morris maybe joining up with Frank at Derby which will release a top position in our youth ranks.

I very much doubt John would play 2nd fiddle to Frank.

We will see

Wooohoo Well done me :ay:

John Terry has reiterated his ambition to become a manager after Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri expressed his willingness for the former captain to join his coaching staff.

No discussions have been held over the possibility of Terry returning "home" and it is Sarri's understanding, from speaking to the 37-year-old earlier this month, that the defender is keen to continue playing for another season.

Terry is unlikely to be returning to Stamford Bridge, for now, but he is working with the academy players at Chelsea's Cobham training ground as he seeks his coaching qualifications, with a long-term target in mind.

He can sell Stadium tours if he needs a pound or two if he likes. Heard he’s pretty good at that.

Just dont let him take your missus on a tour alone.
