AC Milan sign Ismael Bennacer from Empoli

AC Milan has signed Algeria midfielder Ismael Bennacer from fellow Italian club Empoli for a reported £14.5m.

The 21-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Serie A side.

Bennacer has joined on the back of helping Algeria win the Africa Cup of Nations during the summer, where he was named player of the tournament.

He had a spell at Arsenal from 2015 to 2017 before joining Empoli and the Gunners reportedly decided not to take up an option to re-sign him.

Bennacer only made one appearance for Arsenal and that outing came as a substitute in a League Cup game.

He initially represented France at Under-18 and Under-19 level before opting to play for Algeria from 2016.

The world's second-richest man Bernard Arnault

???  Is he?

Anyways, officially denied

"The LVMH Group firmly and officially denies reports that LVMH has presented to the Elliott Fund an offer to buy the football club of AC Milan."

Romelu Lukaku equals Ronaldo’s goalscoring record to continue fine Inter Milan form

Romelu Lukaku scored twice as Inter Milan came from behind to beat Bologna 2-1.

The Belgian striker became the first player to score nine or more goals in their first eleven Serie A games for Inter since Ronaldo in the 1997/98 season.

Lukaku converted a penalty in stoppage-time as Inter moved back to the top of the table, albeit briefly as Juventus won the Derby Della Mole against Torino.

Inter are the only side in Europe’s big five leagues to have won every game they have played away from home so far this season.

Antonio Conte named a young Inter side for the trip to Bologna

The Italian giants trailed 15 minutes from time, but Lukaku scrambled the ball home from a corner to level.

And when strike partner Lautaro Martinez won a penalty in time added on, the former Manchester United man stepped up to slot home from 12 yards and secure a ninth win in eleven games.

Lukaku has begun the season in fine fettle after struggling for form and fitness at Old Trafford last year.

Ronaldo was named Serie A Footballer of the Year in 1998 and finished the season in question with 25 league goals.

Inter Milan visit Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Right about the Milan part but I think this goes under Inter's thread not the AC one? Also, I think Lukaku did something smart by leaving United when he did. He was doing well internationally and had a good run with United as well. Nice to see he's getting back to being good again.

I sincerely hope @CaaC (John) doesn't think Inter and AC Milan are the same club xD

Lol, NO, that's like saying Man United and City are the same club or Liverpool and Everton god forbid, fucked if I know what made me post it in the AC Milan thread? just found a thread to do with Inter Milan if you want to shift it there @Stan?

I blame Ole for getting rid of Lukaku to quickly, this guy is coming back to bite his arse.

https://acmilan.theoffside.com/2020/2/19/21142616/ac-milan-missing-purchase-option-on-loan-star-ante-rebic-acmilan-news-transfers-andre-silva

Rebic is currently on fire at AC Milan and he has scored some important goals for them recently. With his loan stay at AC Milan set to end during the summer of 2021, it will be intriguing to see what agreement Frankfurt and AC Milan come to at that stage, regarding Rebic and Andre Silva.

Similarly, Andre Silva will have his loan spell at Frankfurt end in the summer of 2021. Will Frankfurt and AC Milan do a straight swap deal, so that Rebic joins AC Milan permanently and Andre Silva joins Frankfurt permanently, or will they return to their parent clubs for the long term?

Personally, as a Frankfurt supporter, I wouldn't mind either of them as they are both class acts on their day. I am not surprised that Rebic is shining at Milan right now, because he was great when he played for us. Equally, Andre Silva has also really started to settle in at Frankfurt and he is now showing the kind of performances that are expected from him.

Conversely, Frankfurt sporting director Hubner has said that if Frankfurt sign Andre Silva permanently, that doesn't mean that Rebic will have to join AC Milan permanently. So there are several potential permutations, as to what can happen, regarding these two players and their futures. We shall have to wait and see what the outcome is with bated breath.

AC Milan are top of the Serie A table and they are still unbeaten in the league after 14 matches. Meanwhile, Juventus, the dominant side of Serie A for the last decade are only in 6th place. AC Milan's feat so far this season has been somewhat surprising, what's also been an eye opener is that Zlatan Ibrahimovic, at 39 years of age, has arguably been AC Milan's most important player this term. His 10 league goals have gone a long way in ensuring that AC Milan top the table at this point in the season. What's also interesting to observe, is that most bookies have 2nd placed Inter Milan as favourites to win this season's Serie A title ahead of both AC Milan and Juventus.

Bookies look to be correct

RedBird are absolute cancer for the sport. Sounds like they've seriously pissed off many players, staff, and fans with that decision to sack Maldini. Hopefully someone buys them the fuck out because a club like Milan doesn't deserve having its soul sucked out by some heartless venture capitalists who'd sell their mum and kids for pennies.
