Pompey win 1-0, thanks to the early goal from Lowe. Everyone outside of the defense had howlers, even Lowe who constantly gave away posession.

Pretty negative football, but regardless, the 3 points are nice. Luton will feel cheated after being the better team.

Fuck it, Pompey win, so that's all that matters!

Football is back and it's great.

Not massively surprised by a Bolton win at West Brom, West Brom have lost players and haven't really replaced them. They've only bought in two or three and that's not nearly enough, though they still have a couple weeks to do some business but I don't know how keen the Chinese owners are to invest.

Big wins for Brentford in the Championship, Barnsley in League One and Crewe in League Two.

All this late drama watching it back on Soccer Saturday makes me so glad domestic football is back.

We were outstanding today, totally outclassed Sheff Wed, excited about how this side can progress this season now, it's ridiculously young and is packed with pace and power all over the pitch, Sheff Wed just couldn't handle us when we attacked. Could and should have been 5/6-1 up a combination of the cross bar and a superb goalkeeping performance kept them in it.

Was a bit panicky at the end when Sheff Wed pulled one back. We will certainly have to be more clinical with the chances we missed, they created 3 chances in 70 minutes and scored 2, we created 14 and scored 3.

Three young defenders all making their debut today, 2 only signed late yesterday, 18 year old, 20 year old and 21 year old, so to produce the performance they did was very pleasing, a few jittery moments especially for the scrappy first goal, but should get strong as the season progresses.

Nihiu is a dirty vile cunt, that stamp a the end was a disgrace and he almost connected with his face, pathetic that he only got a second yellow for it, but I think the ref missed the stamp and booked him for the elbow. Hopefully the FA come down hard, no need for that in football.

Watching our friendly on S4C. How are Sheffield United doing?

just went ahead!

Been a poor game but it's a very composed finish from the edge of the box by Baldock.

Swansea take the lead!
Dhanda comes on and seconds later he's possibly bagged the winner!

Monteiro's had a good game since coming on, too. Good subs made by Potter in his first game.

We dominated the first half but were useless with it, our defence looked like a sieve at times... scary stuff. After a good pre-season it's a massive lesson, Wilder got his formation & team selection wrong today. We have some quality players but also some slow & lethargic passengers like Lundstram & Evans.

Last season we struggled to get a get win at the beginning of the season, today we've hammered Rotherham.

Happy for the goal scorers too, Maupay struggled last season so great to see he grabbed two. Sergi Canos had a real difficult season last season, was as if he was trying too hard. Great to see him score a goal on the first day. Ollie Watkins just continuing his progress and of course Lewis McLeod, spent a lot of time injured and has been rated as a very promising signing.

Not seen the game yet, of course it's a long season and a 5-1 win on the opening day won't get us promoted but this team is ready go.

Edit: Just seen the goals, 5-1 not a flattering scoreline, could have been more. Ollie Watkins, what a strike, superb goal.
