This year's 11 nominees were selected by UEFA's Technical Observers. There is one nominee from each of the main UEFA competitions which have been active over the past 12 months. Only goals registered in UEFA club or international fixtures were eligible for consideration.

No Gareth Bale? Scored an overhead that gave Madrid the lead in the Champions League final? Crazy.

Fuck Bale, Benzema v Liverpool was by far my favourite goal of the European competitions last season.

Ronaldo's bicycle kick was perfect, better than Bale's. But Bale's goal became the best I've ever saw in the ultimate stage, at club level.

Therefore, the fact it wasn't nominated makes this award a complete mockery already.

Im all for equality but female 'keepers are woeful. Can't take their worldys seriously.

To be fair you did start a thread on womens football so cant say you are sexist but some of the womens goals would have got past a male goalkeeper
