Another terrible match by Firmino and Coutinho. They need to be dropped. I´m sick and tired of Coutinho, Casemiro and Firmino. Paquetá, Neres and Allan should be starters.

Nice to see Alisson, a former Inter player, shinning at Arena Grêmio.

Paraguay fought really hard. Gotta admire them, they defended really well, Gustavo Goméz, Gatito Fernandez and Almirón with huge performances.

Now on to Argentina probably.

Paraguay are your thorn. They always give you tough matches and knock you out in Copa's. Looks like Brazil wasn't going to let that happen in their own home!

Good news for Brazil is they are through... bad news is that it's at the Mineirao, where they lost 2 of their 4 home losses in history. Coincidentally, both were in cup semi finals. 1975 vs Peru in the Copa America and 2014 vs Germany for the World Cup.

Brazil struggles against Paraguay because we simply can´t break decent defences. The level of coaching in Brazil is atrocious and it shows, terrible selections and terrible football. It has been like this for a long time and it doesn´t seem it will change any time soon.

"The only team who went out to play against Brazil was Peru, and well..."

Brazil can't be matched in their own home without shithousing. Only the top teams can do it.

Not gonna lie, it would have been insanely funny if Paraguay reached the final without winning a single game (again) and Brazil went out without conceding a single goal!

Argentina look alright. Looks like Scaloni has found his lineup. Lautaro - Aguero - Messi has a working formula to it. Just as I predicted.

Messi's been piss. Would be very ironic for Messi to win his first international trophy doing fuck all.

At the very least this time he looks like he’s trying.

Why the fuck would Scaloni take off Lautaro for Di Maria AGAIN!?

Chilean team was too physical for Colombia. Just seemed like the colombians couldn't offer much going forward. I think that it is totally BS though that this matchup occured so early on while Argentina and Brazil got Venezuela/Paraguay respectively. Chile also hit those penalties like ospina owed them dinner.

Experience prevails.

In fairness to Chile they have gotten better per match. Still not seeing the super team from 2016 or 2015 but they've done well. I think some Chileans owe Rueda an apology.

Colombia were impressive this tournament. Navigating their group with 3 wins and without a goal conceded. I thought they even looked good in first half of this much. Second half they ran out of ideas/steam.

Defensively both teams packed in very well, and Colombia were trying to utilize James as much as possible who looked great in flashes, while Chile dominated the midfielded with the Pulgar, Vidal, and Aranguiz.

Colombia have a lot of potential though, Zapata and Arias will surely end up being mainstays sooner or later. Barrios is going from strength to strength. Two excellent center backs. But still, this tournament was really early for Carlos Queiroz after a couple months in charge. Acquited himself well, but will need more time to mold this Colombia team into his vision.

Yeah and don't tell me about the wind !

But the wind is not something that can be remedied by humans. Pitches like that in 2019 and worse still, in a competition that can be watched by the whole world makes those words have credence and weight.

Now this is proper MOTM material.

Chile moves on :what: predicted Firmino would be poor if he started (check)

Chile was a contender (check)

Messi will once again bring shame to Argentina (it's a check, they wont win it)

If messi doesnt lead Argentina to greatness, he needs to apologize to the argentina people and to all those who lied without knowing (claiming Messi is ahead of Maradona). Ellos no saben en verdad quien es el dios del futbol! DIEGO!!

He is, just look at what both did over the course of their whole careers rather than 1 summer tournament. Maradona was a fat bench warmer at the age Messi is now. No player has a perfect career mate.
