Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted June 15, 2019 Subscriber Posted June 15, 2019 Im not sure how I feel about this, on one hand it makes sense with Sule, Pavard and Hernandez being here but he played really well in the back half of the season and it wouldn't leave us with much experience in our backline. The rumours really picked up steam in the last twenty four hours.

Harry Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Do the Dortmund fans harbour ill will towards him? Second of the recent acquisitions of Bayern from Dortmund to be sent back within a few years....
MUFC Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Never rated him during Dortmunds great years under Klopp.

Rick Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 To buy him back for nearly what they sold him for is bad business. He didn't exactly set the world alight in Munich. Poor business from Dortmund, they need to stop holding onto the past with these ex players

Van Dijk has set a 75m bar for a world class defender. It was 50% lower when Hummels was sold, making the original number a decent fee and the return figure pretty cheap.

Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted June 17, 2019 Author Subscriber Posted June 17, 2019 Update not quite done as per kicker:
Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted June 19, 2019 Author Subscriber Posted June 19, 2019 Sad to see him go, kicker is claiming €38m was the price in the end, I'll take it I guess.
6666 Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 £34m (according to the Guardian) is definitely a great price for Bayern to get for him. I'm assuming Dortmund saw his return as ideal as they needed to improve their defence and he could slot straight into the team without needing a long time to adapt to the club. He's a lesser player than when he left so we'll see how that goes.
