Dani Ceballos

It's being reported in Spain that Arsenal Football Club are apparently willing to pay the buy-out clause at €50m of Dani Ceballos which in truth is a very doable sum these days and considering his potential, it would be a great buy.

His current club Real Madrid would rather negotiate with whoever is interested in the want-away 23 year old as they want to insert a clause for re-purchase as they done with their most recent high profile re-signing of Álvaro Morata when he was re-signed from Juventus. Real are willing to let him go for cheaper but with that added detail because they are very aware of his immense potential.

Right now this is a rumour but the particular journalists that are touting it are serious and believable professionals. The question as they put it is that Arsenal aren't the only club really interested in him because both Juventus and AC Milan have made official contact with Real Madrid in recent weeks with also Paris Saint-Germain having spoken to his agent.

The important part... Dani Ceballos wants to leave, this much is known as fact without question.

I'd love it if this happens but I don't believe for a second that it will.

Well we have to replace Aaron Ramsey but then again he doesn't exactly play in Ramsey's position and does actually play in Özil's. This is why I'm dubious but then again we did try Denis Suárez with the objective of being that player.

When it comes to the midfield and the attack, we need a box to box midfielder to replace Ramsey, an actual winger and a backup striker. He can play slightly deep and he can fill in on the wing but would prefer a more specialist player for those positions. I also can't see us paying that release clause even though it's not that ridiculous.

  • The title was changed to Dani Ceballos - Arsenal To Pay €50m Release Clause?

According to Spanish sports daily MARCA Arsenal are going in heavy to try and sign Ceballos.

Personally I don’t believe this at all because he is going to be expensive and there’s another negative which is that Real Madrid have told 5 different suitors that it can either only be a loan deal or if signed, Real Madrid will insert a clause reserving the right to re-sign within 3 years at only a €10m penalty on top of whatever is agreed by the buying club.

They (Real Madrid) know his value, are aware of his immense talent and aren’t going to let go that easy.

The player wants to play and is causing all sorts of strife but the club don’t want to lose all of the future rights to the footballer.

A loan deal could be massively ideal for us, especially considering our lack of funds. Definitely think this would be a nice deal for us currently.

That's just thinking short term mate and wouldn't solve absolutely anything. If he performs as expected he will be gone within a year, two years maximum. Then what to replace that hypothetical hole?

Looks like it might actually happen :)

I'm amazed you're not going for Ziyech. Apparently Overmars had discussions with Arsenal about buying Ziyech but Arsenal refused.

Yeah I'm surprised no one's after him. I'd definitely take him.

Isn't he available for 25m?

I mean, I wish we were after him for that price FFS. But Arsenal, no excuse, you're bidding 50m for fucking Zaha when you've got Ziyech who's better. Absolute idiots.

There must be a reason why hardly any top clubs are showing interest in Ziyech, especially at that price?

I think he must want to have some sort of guarantees he'll be a starter or play a certain number of matches a season. I don't think many big clubs like guaranteeing that to players, because there will be many options for a given position and you want to pick players based on merit rather than the assurances they've been given.

I don't know if he's got a bad attitude or something... but Ajax players with questionable attitudes that demonstrate talent usually get a move out of Holland - at least judging by Zlatan and Suarez (granted those two were/are incredible players that would make most sides in Europe better).

Why dont Madrid want him then?

He wants to play, already threw various strops last season and Real are full of players in those positions. Isco also plays there and he’s a world star where he hasn’t even managed a start. Plus Zidane has returned and he already proved he doesn’t trust youth, he was awful as a coach for Real Madrid ‘B’.

You can’t use a blanket method to determine what’s going on by how one’s club functions. Remember we’re talking Real Madrid here... Most of their players would walk into most first teams anywhere.

Edit

Let me also add that Real Madrid don’t want to let him go. They want him to play wherever he goes. Even as a signing they are forcing a buy-back clause within three years. They know his potential. They’re no fools.

It'll definitely be a loan wont it? No chance Arsenal are stumping up 60m+ for him...if you loan him with no chance to buy, or accept a buy back clause in the deal then you are stupid. Basically paying to do Madrid's work for them? Don't care how good the lad is gonna be, fuck that deal.

That’s exactly how I feel.

I said this on Twitter and the first response I got (subsequently I deleted my tweet) was “We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it”. This on the moment he departs back to Real if he’s been successful with us.

Flipping morons! Desperation doesn’t just come from our board.
