  2. Happy birthday mate. Glorious weather up our end today. I’ve been in the garden chopping back all the trees and foliage to make sure we get the sun all day....

  4. Just got it today. Won't have time to play until tomorrow but I had a quick look (started the campaign and played around for 20 minutes haha) and I like what I'm seeing so far...

  5. It’s also not like it was ten-fifteen years ago, players are now paid more than they’ve ever been paid so if they really want to go home to mainland Europe over the weekend, flights are more accessible and these tossers can just book a private plane anyway.

  6. Just been watching an interview with Billy Liar (aka Gove) who, when asked about the possibility of the tracking app to keep tabs on those who might have had contact with those with or suspected of having the virus confirmed that you would be allowed out if you could demonstrate that you had the all downloaded on to your phone. Looks as if I will be locked down forever. I don't have, don't need, never want a mobile phone so that's me stuffed then! Next week he will be insisting we all sign up to facebook, then Gawd help us!

  7. I don't know whether capacity can be increased at SJP as Mike Ashley sold the land around it and pocketed the money for himself. However we could fill a 60k stadium with the right price structure. In general the facilities within the ground need upgrading. Where I had a season ticket the toilets hadn't been upgraded since Euro 1996. There was a poster on the wall of Kevin Nolan and Alan Smith years after both left the club. The roof is getting covered in moss and dirt which doesn't get cleaned anymore. A shockingly poor quality big screen was put up next to the away fans. With VAR announced on screens the majority of the ground and most expensive seats can't see a screen. These are minor points but necessary fixes. The training ground facilities are notoriously the worst in the league. They haven't been upgraded in a long time because the argument was that it made no difference to performance. You may recall a picture of our players standing in wheelie bins filled with ice and having a paddling pool from Argos. Part of academy investment I believe is about connection in the local community. Providing good quality places for kids to play more than just the 11 players you put out in the under 14s league. Will it lead to more players coming through? Maybe. The Longstaff brothers are our first product since Dummett came through several years ago if we discount Adam Armstrong. Is their success because of our academy or is genetics and family playing a big role? They are the nephews of former Celtic winger Alan Thompson. But we also have to consider how much academy damage was done by the racist bully Peter Beardsley?

  9. Europe's Cheops telescope begins the study of far-off worlds Europe's newest space telescope has begun ramping up its science operations. Cheops was launched in December to study and characterise planets outside our Solar System. And after a period of commissioning and testing, the orbiting observatory is now ready to fulfil its mission. Early targets for investigation include the so-called "Styrofoam world" Kelt-11b; the "lava planet" 55 Cancri-e; and the "evaporating planet" GJ-436b. Discovered in previous surveys of the sky, Cheops hopes to add to the knowledge of what these and hundreds of other far-flung objects are really like. FULL REPORT

  10. Another dark day for football. Another horrible regime taking over our game and being celebrated for it.
