  1. Agree with this, the world’s richest will always make money even in times of disaster. Even in poorer countries with much worse economies that were absolutely rocked by covid, a lot of countries saw the wealth gap between the elites and normal people. The term “disaster capitalism” exists for a reason and in situations that are really bad it’s usually the very richest that end up least affected. I do think some countries have sort of used the pandemic to push for extreme measures which makes me wonder if they’re trying to see what they can get away with in the future. But I also think some reasonable restrictions make sense. And honestly I think maybe rather than a power grab it’s just the result of lots of countries not really knowing what they are doing and just making things up as they go during this pandemic. I definitely think that’s happening in lots of places, so that seems like a reasonable explanation to me.

  2. I know I moan a lot but this deserves a moan. So work have been sound and let us finish at 1pm, only issue is my train to London is at 15:47. So I get to Lime Street and see if they can change it to an earlier time. I'm expecting a small fee to change it but that's fine. Get there, the Avanti staff can't help me at all, have to call a number. 30 minutes to get through and 'no, you must pay the full £66.00'...I thought this was the time of goodwill and generosity? What a mess our transport is. Anyway. Happy New year.

  3. Why are her brothers being interviewed by everyone, rabbiting on about how 'innocent' she is? I don't remember Gary Glitter's family being on sky news telling us about how he's been made a scapegoat of after he was convicted.

  4. Cavani apparently waved goodbye to all four sides of Old Trafford last night. TV cameras didn't pick up on it but its been mentioned a lot online. I think its been well known he's never settled in England. On top of that Ole battled to get him to sign a new contract and the we signed Ronaldo. Bet it was a kick in the teeth for him.

  7. Great stuff. I inadvertently started a race war in the game as well. Was riding my horse and accidentally hit a black guy while doing so. Tried to say sorry to him but he wasn't having it, so decided to fight him. Suddenly, another couple of guys turned up to help him, followed by a couple more and in the end, it turned into 10 on 1 and I had to leg it.

  9. I am no longer positive with COVID, according to my most recent test. I've had no booster, but I'm double jabbed. I'd say for me it was about as mild as it could have possibly been - only really symptomatic for a few hours on one day. Other than that, pretty much felt fine. I've heard that some mild-moderate cases can be quite unpleasant though.

  11. One would think so, and yet the profits of the world's richest soared to never seen hights in 2020 during the lockdowns, for many reasons. Truth is, they don't give a fuck about it - lockdown or not lockdown, they are making money either way. https://www.oxfam.org/en/press-releases/pandemic-profits-companies-soar-billions-more-poorest-pay-price https://www.ft.com/content/747a76dd-f018-4d0d-a9f3-4069bf2f5a93 https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/18516290.uk-billionaires-see-personal-wealth-grow-25bn-pandemic-lockdown/
