Cicero Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Fantastic Quote https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/may/18/chelsea-callum-hudson-odoi-arrested-after-police-called-to-his-home-reports The Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi was reportedly arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning, after police responded to a situation at his home. One immediate consequence may be that the 19-year-old England international misses the club’s return to phase-one training. Hudson-Odoi was reportedly taken into custody by officers responding to a report of a woman being unwell, and later released and bailed until mid-June. According to reports Hudson-Odoi was joined by the woman in contravention of coronavirus lockdown guidelines. Chelsea are due to resume training in small groups on Wednesday but Hudson-Odoi’s return could now be delayed while the club decide how long the winger needs to be away from teammates and another staff members. Frank Lampard’s players were due to undergo coronavirus testing on Monday. It is believed that one negative test would not be sufficient for Hudson-Odoi, who recovered from coronavirus after testing positive for the illness in March, to join training. Given the volume of tests that return a false negative, more than one test may be required to clear him if he has failed to follow Premier League protocols. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan police said: “Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 03:53hrs on Sunday, 17 May to a report of an unwell woman. She was taken to hospital. A man was arrested at the scene. He was released from custody. Enquiries continue.” Chelsea declined to comment on reports of Hudson-Odoi’s arrest.
Administrator Stan Posted May 18, 2020 Administrator Posted May 18, 2020 It doesn't even mention rape in the article. Maybe we hold back on such accusations until something is proven, especially with something serious as this.

It was ESPN that first broke the incident as rape https://www.espn.com/soccer/chelsea/story/4096142/chelseas-hudson-odoi-arrested-after-incident-with-woman

That one doesn't but there were a couple knocking about this morning that were, they seem to have been taken down since so not sure what's happened in the meantime, first reports were that she claimed to be unwell, then the police were called and arrested him over an argument, then a bit later they said he had been bailed on charges of rape... Reporting wise the whole thing is a mess especially if the more serious charge of rape has been mentioned and that turns out to be untrue.. I didn't bother posting anything after the story changed..
ScoRoss Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Didn't he have coronavirus, and is now is breaking the lockdown guidance?

I'd say the woman going over to the property is the breach of the lockdown (not that that is in any way excusing the accusation of rape from CHO). CHO should know better than to invite someone in to their house which is against the guidance...

Cicero Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 Some form of assault happened and there had to have been some form of evidence given it was enough to arrest and charge CHO the same night.

Not necessarily? He's been arrested and released on bail presumably to give Police time to carry out their investigations and gather more evidence? Nothing about being charged according to various articles. An arrest doesn't mean a charge. I'm guessing the police got to the end of the 24-hour period following the arrest and had to release him without charge but on bail. Hence the need to go back to Police on a date in June (also guessing Police can arrest him again or ask him to come in to the station for further questioning if they get enough evidence to pursue a charge...)
Cicero Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 Yeah thought I read somewhere he was actually charged.
Cicero Posted May 19, 2020 Author Posted May 19, 2020 Joined the rest of the squad in small group training sessions today.
Dr. Gonzo Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 How do you get accused of raping someone while the fucking country is on lockdown for a virus that you fucking contracted earlier?!
Cicero Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 Police have now confirmed they will take no further action.

Some old brass likely seeking a few quid. I think players need to learn from the bullshit that Ched Evans went through as an innocent man. Proven false rape allegations should get the same sentence as rapists.
