A team who conceded eleventy trillion goals and were relegated in any other league would be asking for 10 mil at most. Premier league is a joke.

The English Player Premium Tax.

An unwritten rule/guideline in the transfer window in this country, sadly.

Even Maguire and Robertson moved from Hull when they got relegated for £12m and £8m respectively at the time!

Guess it's just how a club values them, knowing they'll get a good sell-on profit/value too.

One thing I will say though is that I don't mind clubs saying a player is worth '£Xm' to them. That may not be their true value, but it's kind of like a 'if you want him, pay this otherwise jog on'. There's bound to be one club stupid enough to chuck enough money at that club...

But he’s from Northern Ireland, so the Robertson discount should apply!

But yeah, I think that price is more telling other clubs to fuck off than anything else

With this lad, Hendrick, Fraser and Wilson we might be able to form a half decent outfit. Or at least we'll have the players to bounce straight back

Make no mistake though this is a classic buy to sell Ashley move.

I'm reading Norwich fans saying he's not top 10 prem standard. He's got too many flaws. They couldn't get anymore than that for him so it's a good deal for them. To be honest they don't seem to care he's off.

This is quite worrying.

He's still surely better than what you have already?

Norwich refusing to negotiate with us but then accepting this bid is such a cunty thing to do to the lad.

I'd rather play for Sydney FC than sit behind Andy Robdog and Tsimikas in the picking order.

This was before the Tsimikas deal was done. The lad had his heart set on a move, even offered to take less wages to get it done.

Better than nothing. Low bar.  :4_joy:

Nah we do have Dummett who can play there but he's injured all the time. Dummett isn't great going forward but he's solid enough usually.

We do need a left back but it's the easiest position to buy half decent for.

At the time it was said that our interest was a smokescreen to get the Tsimikas deal done without everyone knowing.

We were never seriously in for him mate. This surely proves it no?

Or alternatively, one of the most successful clubs in the world has a brilliant scouting network that finds more than one player at a time; in the knowledge that some deals never go through.

No, it proves nothing. We were in for both players.

A bit like how we also have had a bid for Rogerio accepted. Italian journos still think we are signing him

You wouldnt need a brilliant scouting network to find a player that played in the same league as us to be fair xD

We revealed the Tsimikas signing only a couple of days after our reported final offer for Lewis was rejected. You don't get that far down the line if you don't know a deal is already done.

Lewis was never ever signing for Liverpool.

we wasn't. If you think we would have gone to all the trouble of negotiating for both players whilst negotiating terms etc with each player then thats your downfall mate.

We signed Tsimikas litterally days after Norwich rejected our reported final bid for Lewis.... think about it?

All that we know is that a bid went in for Lewis. When Norwich wouldn't budge on their £20m asking price Liverpool turned their attention to Tsimikas who they obviously feel represents better value. Anything else is pure guesswork.

You think about it pal. Teams don’t just go after one player at a time.

Turned our attention to Tsimikas? We signed him litteraly 2 days after our 'reported' bid for Lewis was rejected xD

Norwich wouldn't budge on their £20m valuation? Funny that, they seem pretty happy to budge on it now?!?!

come on guys.
