According to Di Marzio, Chelsea has just signed Rudiger, from Roma, for a 35 million euros fee. He is 24 years old. Good signing, he improved a lot in Italy.

Yeah happy with that and admittedly great business so far from us. Make a 10 million deal off of Begovic and get Caballero for free, now get a solid defender at a fair price rather spending 70 million on VVD or Koulibaly.

Love humble pie

xD who said that? Chelsea and Conte surprised us all last season.

Why are you so touchy recently? Yawn.

Must of been someone else as I remember someone saying City or United will walk the league.

I do believe that the title will be going to Manchester, just not sure which side.

As for the Lukaku transfer. I think he's improved massively but I think the prices being thrown around are ridiculous. Why get rid of Costa and spend an insane amount on someone you sold a couple of seasons ago.... question is what are the alternatives if the Lukaku transfer doesn't happen? Realistically?

I think City is a fair call as a possible Champions for next year as they stand. As ever they have thrown money at the project. For me, they are not and never have been since the money turned up, a team. Wonderful individuals who on their day play a brand of football we all enjoy, but could quite easy not turn up for a number of games.

The other half of Manchester has to do alot in the transfer market to even challenge. Obviously they have the money and enough panic about the place (signing Pogba) to spend n spend till they can challenge. I have been telling my United buddy, Redcanuck, since Jose turned up at the place that he doesnt really want to be there, hates the place and today a classic story was passed on by none other than the boy who is the United reporter for Sky. He said, Jose and his staff were flabbagasted when they tried to contact Edward Woodward last month to question how transfers in were progressing, only to find out he had jetted off to New Zealand to watch the Lions!

I Tell yer, Jose would have been pissed hearing that :))

As things stand, I dont see the Trophy leaving London, but lets wait till the window closes.

You don't think Jose has Woodward's cell phone number ?

City looks like they are building a good team and should challenge for the title, though they have had a better team on paper than their results for a few years now.    United has added a CB to a team that couldn't make the top four last year, let's see where things are a month from now.  Bit early to see where any of the top teams will finish til the windows over.

Well I think Jose's point is, Woodward should be doing his job, not gallivanting across the planet to watch a game of Rugby.

Maybe your gonna sign Sonny Bill Williams to replace ol Big Nose  ^_^

With the arrival of Rudiger, I can't help but think this will shift Azpilicueta to play RWB and have Moses as depth.

Cesar can play any position to perfection. When he was pushed to rwb a few times, he didn't impress but a full pre season etc he will adapt nicely. Saying all this, he is a better player than Rudiger

Yeah, you'd have thought Conte would have just identified a specialist RB/RWB and left the CB's as they were?

Well we need depth, the back line was crowded. We sold Ake, Zouma's loan is in the air. Rudiger is on the brink of joining us, Christensen is back and you have the usual suspects Luiz, Cahill and Azpilicueta. I have no clue how we will line up next season squad wise, but too many changes can't be good for the team.

Azpilicueta is bar none the best man to man defender in Europe. That said, Roma and Germany fans speak highly of Rudiger, who to my understanding is a more polished version of Zouma. Fast, Aggressive, great tackler, and most importantly, can play at the back.

The main differences I've noticed when Moses and Azpilicueta play at RWB, Moses tends to take defenders on in the final third whereas Azpilicueta always finds the opportunity to cross when in the final third.

Considering the majority of the goals we conceded last year were from crosses towards Azpilicueta and Moses' side (due to their obvious small stature) It makes since that Conte would want to improve this area.

Best man to man defender in Europe? That's a massive claim!

I don't think I've ever seen him beat, which is helped by his lower centre of gravity, he rarely gets pushed off.

The match against Atletico Madrid in 2014, where him and Filipe Luis were battling against one another, was some of the best defending I've seen in  a long time.

Best man for man defender in Europe is seriously pushing it though mate.

Hope he eventually doesn't lose his spot to some overpaid star who will be shit, he isn't a household name but as a player he is always up there 110%

With regards to your signature, we also signed 'wonder kids' Billy Gilmour and Nicolas Tie. Both won't ever see the light of day in a Chelsea kit, but signings nonetheless. Expected to make a profit off them in 3-5 years time.

Seriously, Chelsea is just a company that Roman launders his mafia money through.

Buy low and sell high? Simple. Made over 120 million this year with that process. Where does money laundering fit in? xD

Everybody knows Roman launders his money through Chelsea. Don't say you didn't know that? xD

I'm asking where does it fit in with our buy low and sell high approach? We are becoming even more self sufficient with it.

You are more self sufficient lately but you are still a money laundering project. Roman didn't put 100's of millions through your club for the good of his health.

Or he put millions into the club because he found it to be an amusing hobby. I see it just like the guy spends money remodeling a car.
