Robert Lewandowski Moves to Barcelona

I thought I read somewhere that Bayern will part with him for 50m but they want the entire fee up front.  Barcelona might not exist in a couple years so they want to make sure they get their money before the liquidation 😆.

Apparently Barca have been told by Bayern that Lewandowski is not for sale at any amount, but he is still doing all he can for the move. Seems like Bayern are willing to let him run his contract though, which I assume means Gnabry is on his way out.

Wouldn't bet on Bayern let Lewandowski run his contract through to be connected with Gnabry's status regarding whether he leaves or stays. The Lewandowski soap had come to a point at which Bayern are forced to persist on the contract to avoid to appear blackmailable by either players,  or their agents or both.

Could moving to somewhere like Barcelona be realistically described as a new challenge?? Does Lewandowski actually want a new challenge or does he just want to go somewhere for an easy ride?? I mean moving from one club that have won shedloads of trophies to another club that will probably win shedloads of trophies is hardly a challenge is it? It's just a change of scenery... A challenge would be to join any club that is not normally an automatic title winning side and helping move them up a notch or two in my opinion..

Tbf I think post-Messi Barca are very much a club that aren't automatically guaranteed to win anything. They're still a good side, for sure, but they don't seem like the very complete side that has the additional cherry of one of the best players of all time inspiring them anymore like they were not too long ago.

I think for some players being able to challenge for titles at another big European side when they've been at a club where they've won pretty much all they can win gives them that fresh coat of paint feeling like they've moved into a new house. So yeah, it's so much really that much of a challenge where they're looking to take a club on their back like Maradona, Gerrard or Totti... but it's a new challenge in the sense that it's "new" to them.

Yeah I dont see them connected either.

If Gnabry does not want to extend he will be sold, it just seems like no decision has been made yet. It could make a difference in Gnabry's mind though I suppose if he has his eyes set on playing centrally i suppose.

God I hope this happens and Bayern panic buy Werner.

I don't think they will. I think they value keeping him for one last year more than they value whatever fee they think they'll get from Barca (maybe they question whether Barca can actually make payments, too) - replacing him will be expensive and this buys them time to make a move as they plan for next season, because it seems pretty clear Bayern have planned on keeping him this summer.

Bayern Munich have told FC Barcelona they don't want any installments in any deal for Robert Lewandowski and that they want all the money upfront in cash because Bayern believes that FC Barcelona won't exist in "one or two years' time". #fcblive #fcbayern [@honigstein] pic.twitter.com/MIBgrCxgpl
