Trippier is so overhyped. I was so glad we got rid, can't defend at all. Will struggle in a poor side

Better than Aurier and Doherty though.

Doesn’t mean he wasn’t a liability also. We’ve never properly replaced Kyle Walker

Newcastle need to be smart. Players like Elneny and Chambers for £20m each would make perfect sense. Not top level but solid players that will improve the defensive side of their game. Then add Nketiah for £20m, and maybe Reiss Nelson for another £20m and you're sorted.

I believe they probably need a bit of a spark in Dele Alli for £40 million, probably Joe Rodon for £20 million to play with Chambers and then probably a back up for Trippier so £15 million for Doherty seems fair

Adding on to that they can sign Adrian for about 20m in case Dubravka has a bad day, then in the middle of the pitch we MIGHT be tempted to sell Oxlade- Chamberlain for 50m. If they are really lucky, a bid of 40m might get Origi.

Between the three of our clubs & the excellent players that we definitely don’t want rid of 👀 Newcastle could build a dynasty.

Well Eddie Howe loves over paying for Liverpool backup players.

Be interesting to see how Trippier does as the way some of you are talking suggests Javier Manquillo is a better fit because we are a poor side

@Honey Honey got to be happy with getting trippier? Certainly not the kind of player you would expect to get when Ashley was owner?

Absolutely.

A few months ago we pulled out of a loan deal for Hamza Choudhury because the £850k fee was considered too much.

Wrong move imo

Premier League proven* players like Chambers & Holding just sat there waiting to make you a european powerhouse

In all honesty though, they would be good additions for Newcastle's first step forward before they actually start going after hyped up names in the future.

I couldn't think of a better central defender available that could improve Newcastle now and contribute for the next 4+ seasons.

Wolves must be kicking themselves that they didn't get this one over the line on deadline day.

Buying a new back 4 but we don't seem to be linked to any defensive midfielders, which is surely in large part key to a strong defence.

Joelinton is the only name that should be guaranteed on that teamsheet in a midfield 3

So that's Trippier and Wood, who else is rumoured to be targets?

Todd Cantwell, Diego Carlos, Hugo Ekitike, Samual Umtiti.

Bids for Sven Botman have been rejected. They won't sell until the summer.

A centre half is a cert to be next through the door.

Decent list.

Saw a training clip where Wood chests it down to Saint Maximim. That's the new tactic :D

Who gives it to Almiron who shoots over the bar...

Had Bruce spunked £25m (TWENTY FIVE) up the wall on Chris Wood from Burnley, Geordies would be foaming at the mouth.

While Chris Wood for £25m is frankly bonkers money, Newcastle staying in the Premier League is probably worth that sort of money as it weakens Burnley to a point where most are probably lumping them with Norwich and writing them off completely now.

I could see Burnley bringing in Lyndon Dykes. Whilst he hasn't been as good as last season he's definitely a "Burnley Player".

We're bricking it a little as we're thinking that they could consider looking at Kieffer Moore.

Fits the bill, he did well at the Euro's so he's able to mix it at Premiership level.

Talksport have called, they want their opinions back.
