Administrator Stan Posted June 28, 2017 Administrator Share Posted June 28, 2017 Only £20m for a young player with decent potential. Plenty more clubs must have been seriously interested but I presume he wanted to go to Bournemouth following his loan spell last season.

Subscriber Dan+ Posted June 28, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted June 28, 2017 Bournemouth are building a side that'll keep them up for years. While I don't quite buy the whole fairytale as they did have a very decent backing in the football league, it's impressive what a club of that size is doing. Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted June 28, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted June 28, 2017 Right move for all parties. Still mad that Chelsea recalled him last season though it was understandable that they needed someone in case of emergencies.

6666
Chelsea have done well to get £20m for a player they never had an interest in using. Away from the crazy pice though, it's a good move for all concerned.
Devil-Dick Willie
Prices in the permier league are getting out of control. He is worth 5 mil, 10 at the very very utmost if there was a bidding war. Sweet Jesus.
Smiley Culture
Isn't it about time people stopped calling Bournemouth "plucky" now? They've bought their way into the Premier League, often flouting Football League rules in the process. Yes, they had a bit of a remarkable spell in Eddie Howe's first spell but since these Russians have come in, they've thrown money at it and that's a big part of why they're where they are. Still, £20m for a 22 year-old who's nowhere near his prime but has stood out at Bournemouth and Watford is a bargain.
True Blue
Gutted that we sold him, but at 22 he wants to play and fair play to him. Wish him all the best in the future, hope we sell all the youngsters / loanees we never plan to use.
Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted October 24, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted October 24, 2019 Chelsea scout Piet de Visser has urged the club to re-sign Netherlands defender Nathan Ake, 24, from Bournemouth. (Sky Sports)

Cicero
We won’t. He’d be on the same level of Zouma and Christensen. Funds need to go towards an elite CB in the summer:
Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted November 25, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted November 25, 2019 Tottenham are keeping an eye on Bournemouth's Nathan Ake, 24, with the Dutch defender a candidate to replace Jan Vertonghen, whose contract at Spurs expires in summer 2020. Subscriber CaaC (John)+ Posted December 11, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted December 11, 2019 If they miss out on Umtiti, Manchester City will raid Bournemouth for Nathan Ake, 24, but could face competition from the Dutchman's former club Chelsea. True Blue
They can't raid anything because we have a buy back clause. We pay 40 mill and it's done. However i don't think he is a big improvement on the current crop of cb's.

Zouma doesn't strike me as someone capable of holding down a CB place because he can be clumsy sometimes and just seems a bit car-crash esque. Having said that, I wonder if Chelsea will go for someone a bit more established in top-level football and start paying big money again from January... Cicero
Tomori and Rudiger will form a decent partnership. There is genuinely no need for Ake and he was only considered given the nature of Rudiger’s injury. He’s fully fit now.

Better off sticking with those 2 as opposed to Ake. I can see Ake going to somewhere like Spurs when Jan or Alderweireld leave.
