Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted September 9, 2023 Author Subscriber Share Posted September 9, 2023 Results - Italian Grand Prix The qualifying prediction this weekend is a write-off as usual. With everybody having the common sense to take the safe pick of Verstappen, whether it's 5 points or 0 like last weekend, the field continue to cancel each other out. Normal service was resumed on Sunday, as Verstappen fought his way past Sainz and cruised to victory, awarding everyone 5 points for the top spot of the podium. @RandoEFC, @nudge, @Whiskey, @The Palace Fan, @DeadLinesman and @OrangeKhrush all managed to follow this up by bagging another 5 points for the Red Bull 1-2, while @Stan and @Tommy had to settle for 2 points, placing Perez in 3rd. @Coma lost out as the only one to go without the Mexican on the podium, but @MUFC takes all of the plaudits, his strategy to wait until all of the Practice sessions were completed helping him to pinpoint a perfect podium, scoring a total of 20 points including the 5 bonus points as a result. Onto the random driver for this weekend, Yuki Tsunoda. This is the first time we had a "Did Not Start" result for our random driver, but rather than splitting hairs, the 5 points have been awarded to @nudge who was the only one to predict a DNF for the Japanese driver. Finally, the majority thought that Charles Leclerc would put together a good enough weekend to overhaul his team-mate in the Drivers' Championship, but Carlos Sainz actually consolidated his 5th place meaning that @Stan, @MUFC and @nudge take 5 further points each for the bonus question. Leaving them as the top three points-scorers this weekend. Here's what it does for the standings: Some very mediocre scores in the top half of the championship, but @Stan moves into joint 1st place with a marginal gain over his nearest rivals. @OrangeKhrush overtakes @Coma to move into the top three while @MUFC and @nudge make up some serious ground in the midfield with their bumper scores for this weekend. In the Constructors' Championship, there is movement at both ends. @nudge and @Stan comfortably outscore the Mercedes pair this weekend and put the scarlet Ferrari colours at the top of the table.
