Some interesting results across the leagues today!

0-0 is disappointing for Grimsby but I'll take the point.

QPR's nosedive in the last 9 months or so is remarkable, I know it's one game but they look nailed to drop this season. This follows a drop from top of the league to nearly dropping last year, a 5-0 loss at Oxford last week then that earlier today.

Barnsley and Watford the big winners today. And MK Dons beating Wrexham spoiling Sky's fun.

Missed the first half but this second half has been class, have to say.

Leicester look like they have somehow nicked this but Coventry can only blame themselves, they have missed too many chances.

They were well on top playing beautiful football but taking Hamer off as early as they did has backfired. Bloke was absolutely running the show and spraying passes around with ease.

Top class player for this division and if he's still at Coventry by the start of September, I'll be shocked. Lower PL clubs will surely look at him, and if they don't I'm sure the likes of us, Leicester, Saints certainly would be.

Massive get out of jail for Leicester but what's evident in this division is if you possess that quality like Leicester have with Dewsbury Hall's finishes, it can bail you out.

Coventry will be very handy on the basis of this showing, though they'll be gutted to walk away with nothing after that.

As for us, here's how we go, playing with no specialist striker.

I think Gnonto will play there which will be interesting. All our front line are small, nippy players so instantly you feel like we are going to miss a physical presence up top.

Debut for 17 year old Archie Gray playing in centre midfield. Fair play to him and good luck but that could be a big learning curve today against someone as experienced as Aaron Ramsey, we'll see.

I'm bricking it when James and Gnonto run at our defence. Think you'll score a few if you play it to their feet.

Dewsbury-Hall and Winks ended up bossing that I thought.

Happy to get the win and 3 points to start the season. Coventry missed a lot of chances but they had nothing in the first half. Became bit more of a contest, end to end in second half at times. I was getting very worried when they were breaking through us on the counter. They should have secured the win before we got it into it. Hermansen makes a quality save at 1-1 but Dewsbury-Hall took his goals well.

Mavididi grew into the game with confidence.

The thing I'm most pleased about is how quickly the players have adopted Maresca's style of play. There were some really encouraging moves going from defence to attack with 3 passes. So refreshing after what we saw under Rodgers.

Can only assume we'll get slicker and better as we progress into the season.

Might have to make changes to my Gaffr side sharpish at this rate xD

GET IN!!!!

Fuck knows how, but we've taken the lead. Bowler puts it into the net after a bit of scrappy defending.

Because I backed Leeds to win to nil, that’s how 😂

Let's hope that continues, as fucking Ugbo of all players has made it 2-0.

Fuck knows what the Leeds defence were doing, as they just watched the ball roll to the back post.

I can't tell whether it was Kalechi and Praet that made a difference earlier or Coventry shot themselves in the foot by taking off three of there best players.

Still, great start in Gaffr for Kelvin Dew-Bruyne.

Combination of both I'd say. Was surprised Coventry took Hamer off, but when Praet came on it meant we had someone more capable in that role instead of Ndidi.
