Dr. Gonzo Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Joe Gomez is quietly having an excellent season as an incredibly important player. This season he’s played at CB, RB, LB and CM - and put in great performances in each position. With all the injuries we’ve had this season, him being versatile has been absolutely immense for us. He had a bad time of things last year, but the difference having functional midfielders in front of him has made has him brilliant again. 1 Quote

It's only a few months ago he was written off on here as not being good enough as a squad player He's been brilliant this season though. I was worried his injuries had got the better of him last season but he's definitely back close to his best this season 1 Quote

But I think he’s been decent overall, not a world beater, but a good utility man who can put in a good shift wherever he plays. Quote

The spell at left back when Robertson and Tsimikas were out he was outstanding. When he played midfield in the week for the first time it took him a half to adapt but he was good second half 2 Quote
Rick Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Klopp says Joe’s sub was planned, and that Konate’s isn’t as bad as it looks. Taken off as a precaution more than full injury. Didn’t mention any injury to Darwin, so it looks like that was purely tactical. Hopefully Konate can start on Sunday. Quote
Dr. Gonzo Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Isn’t it mental how Pep Guardiola is the biggest cunt in football, irredeemably, in a world where Alex Ferguson exists? Quote

Dr. Gonzo Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I’m absolutely gutted. The one manager we could bring in that gave me a bit of confidence about us replacing Klopp was Xabi Alonso and now he’s announced he’s staying at Leverkusen. I think he probably is waiting til Ancelotti fucks off out of Madrid then he’ll go there. The other names on the shortlist don’t exactly fill me with a great deal of confidence, so pretty gutted. 1 Quote

TBH most of the others are a bit shit considering the kind of football they have their teams playing. But who would have likely come and replaced Klopp that easily anyways and this includes Xabi. It was always going to be a rebuild road at the end of the season and now it's just a harder rebuild road. Quote
