Ironic that Haaland lost it completely at the end there over that ludicrous Ref's decision but he has to also acknowledge he cost City today with that open goal miss in the first half.

By his standards, it was a shocking miss and quite frankly, a poor performance from him overall.

Seen a Chelsea fan on Twitter bemoan that Spurs get all the attention about a ravaged injury-hit squad but they (Chelsea) don't get any.

Well, yeah. Because they hoard about a million players each summer and have adequate back-up in terms of individual talent.

I think that's probably mostly why he was mad, he knows he should of scored. we are jinxed against Spurs, hit the post twice, missed a sitter it's normally how it goes against them

Maybe he isn't used to decisions going against his team? 🧐

That and spending a couple of billion in the last couple of windows for shits and giggles doesn't help, so expect the same in January to counter the injuries.

which is why I believe Howe is deliberately not using injuries or fatigue as an excuse.   It sends a message to the players putting in shifts that they are not fill ins or spare wheels but good enough to win.   I feel managers blaming injuries may send the wrong message to players especially the ones who likely go out when the injuries return.

psychology is important and being able to understand the human element.  which is why i think Ten Hag even though he is right, he is dealing with it the wrong way.

as for Chelsea bemoaning injuries, they have about 3 teams worth of players so I don't think Chelsea should be pulling that card.

People putting in the likes of Bettenelli as a number when complaining about our injuries. :4_joy:

Even Poch put things into perspective and said we are only really missing the likes of Nkunku, Fofana and Lavia. I'd say Chilwell but he's been bang average since we've reverted to a back 4 vs playing at LWB.

The one thing you can always count on is for Sky to make a meal out of small issues.

City have played most of the season without Grealish, De Bruyne and Stones. Of course they are not going to look like the team they were from January on last season. I imagine once all three are back and playing regularly they step up a gear and blow the competition out of the water.

Tottenham have played well today and against Villa also with a massively depleted squad with various fringe players playing out of position. They are not really being exposed badly by anyone, they are not really playing in a way that is unsustainable, they are just playing in a way that is distinctive and that has secured them a lot of points this season. When they get their players back they will go back to playing very well and picking up lots of points to go along with it.

We are going to see just how much of an influence Gundogan was come the end of the season.

Just seen the Liverpool goals.

Those first 3 are cracking hits. Mac Allister's is probably my favourite. Such a sweet connection on it.

Seen some calls that the 4th should have been a foul on Decordova-Reid. Don't agree. Not enough in it for me and think he went down easily.

Not sure why Klopp never played wingbacks.

Formations that use wingbacks aren't as dangerous on the counter most of the time. We play attacking football but we're also a very dangerous team on counters - I think those formations that get the most out of playing wingbacks just don't really fundamentally fit in with Klopp's philosophies on how to play.

I think there's been brief moments of going to 3 CBs with wingbacks, but that's out of trying to cling to a lead at the end of a match. Honestly, I think playing with wingbacks typically leads to pretty turgid football so I'm glad he's not fond of it.
