Talk about a goal against the run of play...

Came after our best spell but no less than we deserve. Been absolutely diabolical this. Dyche has done more good than harm for us but he also loves costing us games with baffling decisions like playing a 38 year old full back on the wing at home to a managerless Palace missing four of their best players.

His only answer now will be to put Beto on and keep going long, and then Chermiti in the last 10 minutes when that still hasn't worked.

Always a pleasant surprise for this team to get anything after conceding first but that was absolutely painful overall. Wrong lineup from Dyche. Harrison isn't exactly Messi but he managed to create half a yard for a cross about 4 times in the 30 minutes he was on the pitch.

A point is disappointing to be honest but that's what our performance deserved tonight at best. Unfortunately due to the Premier League's farcical FFP processes, we don't know if or how many points we'll get back on appeal, how many points we might get docked for a second breach and if or how many of those points we might get back on appeal. Not knowing all of that makes it hard to assess whether that's a point we can be satisfied with in the big picture or not.

A boring game for the neutral but I was happy to see we seem to have enough about us to survive this season without our four best players.

The 3-4-2-1 sounds like the way we will go for the rest of the season and some players impressed more than I anticipated. Tyrick Mitchell's heat map must never have been so high and Joel Ward covered for Munoz well whilst as a right centre back which I think will be his new position over the next 18+ months. Adam Wharton's range of passing should get better as players recognise what he's capable of and should keep him in the XI.

There were some downsides, the manner of the goal we conceded was disappointing, Mateta doesn't win enough aerial dules or physical battles for a man of his size and I don't see 'it' with Ahamada who gives away far too many dangerous free kicks.

I think Everton will see this as a bigger opportunity lost. They haven't won in a while and on paper this was a great opportunity to do so given the dire situation we're in. But the performances since Brighton have made me believe were capable of finishing 14th-16th even if we dont have the substitutes to hold on every week. Hopefully we get a reset this summer under Glasner.

Well. That’s that. Was a good 70 minutes thinking they might drop points again.

I'm surprised it took 70 minutes to break the deadlock. I don't watch the oil clubs play unless its against us, but I saw a clip of the goal and... the slip - Brentford's defenders just always have an error in them, even if they're playing well I suppose.

Performance was really good, kept City quiet and it was really just Ajer’s slip that let them in.

Onkeyka’s pace in behind has been missed but he isn’t a finisher.

Games like this we desperately need Schade and Mbeumo back, need that speed.

Any win will do. Our first 11 has been ravaged, and while we do still have options, it is FAR from an ideal situation we find ourselves in. The front three tonight (and possibly the final) will likely be Diaz, Gakpo & Elliott.

Injured against Brentford along with Jota, Salah, & Jones.

Salah as well? WTF?

I saw the headlines yesterday about Jota and Jones and Alexander-Arnold. Didn't know about the other 2. That's rough. Probably still win tonight anyway.

And Alisson out until after the March international break. Pretty bad injury crisis for us tbh. Think we’ve just got to hope we can grind out results until we get more players back to stay in the title race.

Some big games ahead too - Chelsea cup final, Everton, Man City...

Everton game will be moved should Liverpool beat Southampton in the FA Cup. Likely be rearranged for late in the season. But yeah get your point

They'll all be fit for the final. Let's be real.

Alisson (wouldn't have played anyway), Jota and Jones are all defo out. Trent and and Szoboszlai are big doubts. I think the last I read on Salah and Nunez was that they will be assessed in the run up to Sunday. You might be right about the latter two, hope so anyway.
