Scotland giving Ireland a decent game here. Expect Ireland to run away with it in the 2nd half as quality will show but it's not all been easy for Ireland up to now.

How many sports do you watch you seem to be interested in loads of sports?

I know nobody cares, but England were 31-0 against Scotland and after 76 minutes, England have fucked it. 31-38.

Lol, me and the wife were watching the 'Great Comeback' by Scotland and when Scotland scored their last try making it 31-38 we yelled the bloody flat roof off but hat's off to England and scored the try at the death to salvage the draw at 38-38, I don't like the England coach Eddie Jones anyway, he is a cocky wee bastard and always puts his foot in his mouth like running Wales down before Wales thumped them and now he did the same to Scotland in the build-up to the match.

Warren Gatland named British and Irish Lions coach for 2021 South Africa tour

Warren Gatland has been confirmed as head coach of the British and Irish Lions for a third time.

Gatland, currently Wales coach, will take charge in South Africa in 2021, having already presided over a series win in Australia in 2013, and a draw in New Zealand four years later.

The 55-year-old New Zealander is standing down as Wales boss after the World Cup this year.

He will officially start with the Lions in the summer of 2020.

"I'm hugely honoured and delighted to lead the Lions again," said Gatland, who becomes just the second man in history - after Sir Ian McGeechan - to take charge of three tours.

"It is exciting and a great challenge. The Lions rightly have a truly special place in the game and I jumped at the chance to be involved again when I was approached about the role."

Rob Howley: Wales backs coach sent home from World Cup over alleged betting breach

Wales backs coach Rob Howley has been sent home from the World Cup for an alleged breach of World Rugby's laws covering betting and anti-corruption.

The 48-year-old's departure is a huge blow just six days before Wales' opening game in Japan against Pool D opponents Georgia.

A Welsh Rugby Union statement said Howley had "returned to Wales to assist with an investigation".

The WRU confirmed it was in relation to a potential breach of betting on rugby.

World Rugby's regulation 6.3.1 reads: "No connected person shall, directly or indirectly, bet and/or attempt to bet on the outcome of any aspect of any connected event and/or receive and/or attempt to receive part or all of the proceeds of any such bet and/or any other benefit in relation to a bet."

World Rugby Awards: Pieter-Steph Du Toit & Emily Scarratt named players of the year

The awards were held in Tokyo, the day after the Rugby World Cup final in Yokohama

South Africa's Pieter-Steph du Toit and England's Emily Scarratt were named as Players of the Year at the World Rugby Awards in Japan.

Flanker Du Toit was part of the Rugby World Cup final win over England on Saturday. His team also won their first Rugby Championship in August.

Centre Scarratt started four matches in England's Women's Six Nations Grand Slam on her return from the sevens.

Team-mates Katy Daley-McLean and Sarah Bern were also on the shortlist.

Du Toit, who made more tackles than any other Springbok in their successful World Cup campaign, beat England's Tom Curry, Wales' Alun Wyn Jones, New Zealand's Ardie Savea, United States hooker Joe Taufetee and his own team-mate Cheslin Kolbe to win the men's award.

His success followed South Africa being named team of the year and their coach Rassie Erasmus picking up the coach of the year accolade.

Recent World Rugby Awards winners
Men's 15s player of the year Women's 15s player of the year
2018 Johnny Sexton (Ire) Jessy Tremouliere (Fra)
2017 Beauden Barratt (NZ) Portia Woodman (NZ)
2016 Beauden Barratt (NZ) Sarah Hunter (Eng)
2015 Dan Carter (NZ) Kendra Cocksedge (NZ)

Scarratt said that the re-introduction of professional contracts for the England Women's team after funding had controversially been switched to funding sevens after the 2017 World Cup, had helped improve both her and her team's performances.

"We got professional contracts that gave some of the girls that had not been part of the sevens team the chance to train full-time. As everyone knows that makes such a huge difference," said Scarratt,

"We don't chase after individual accolades in a team sport, but it's pretty cool for sure."

Romain Ntamack, who started three of France's four games at the Rugby World Cup at fly-half, won the breakthrough player of the year award.

The 20-year-old, whose father Emile won 46 caps between 1994 and 2000, made his senior debut in February after helping the nation's under-20 team lift their age-grade world title the previous summer.

England wing Joe Cokanasiga and South Africa scrum-half Herschel Jantjies were also on the shortlist.

TJ Perenara's score in New Zealand's pool-stage win over Namibia was named as the try of the year, while England's Wayne Barnes won the night's referee award.

Saracens: Premiership Rugby to release the report into salary cap breaches

_110547740_saracenscelebrate2019title_ge

Premiership Rugby will release the report into Saracens' breaches of the league's salary cap.

The move comes after the defending champions said they were "keen" for the report to be published in full.

The north London club will be relegated to the Championship at the end of the season for persistently breaking the Premiership's regulations.

Sarries had already been deducted 35 points and fined £5.4m in November for the three previous seasons' spending.

In a statement published on the club website, Saracens chairman Neil Golding said the release of the report will "provide much-needed context and clarity" to the situation.

Sarries, winners of four of the past five Premiership titles and three of the past four European Champions Cups, accepted relegation after being asked to prove they complied with the £7m cap for the 2019-20 campaign.

Golding, who took over from Nigel Wray as Saracens chairman earlier this month, said another audit of the club would have involved a "long period of more financial and emotional strain", which was "not a viable option".

"We agreed with PRL on relegation in the hope that we could draw a line under the mistakes made by Saracens with respect to compliance with the regulations and concentrate on putting new robust procedures in place," he added.

"We know our path will not be a smooth one in the short term. We must face that challenge together; be resilient, united and open in order to move forward."

On Tuesday, Premiership Rugby chief executive Darren Childs called on Saracens to "take ownership" of the process which led to their unprecedented punishment, and the league's governing body has now begun preparations to release the decision document.

"Premiership Rugby welcomes Saracens' decision to withdraw its previous objection to the publication of Lord Dyson's decision," a spokesperson said.

"These objections were stated in the strongest terms and in writing on behalf of the club by its lawyers.

"We believe that publication of the decision in respect of Saracens' past breaches of the salary cap is an important step towards upholding trust in our enforcement of the regulations and the disciplinary process."

Phil Bennett dies.

Rugby Union player, Phil Bennett, Wales & British & Irish Lions Fly-half dies at 73 years old, one of the greatest players in his time, R.I.P. Phil, and my thoughts go out to all the loved ones you left behind.

I will always remember you watching you playing with the Baa-Baas against the All Blacks in 1973 and starting the move off with one of the greatest tries ever, your side step was supreme which started the move off which another all-time great in Gareth Edwards scoring the try. All Blacks v Barbarians 1973 - The National Stadium of Wales.

good start to Rugby season, beating the All Blacks comprehensively should make the southern hemisphere powers question whether kicking south African teams out of super rugby was a smart decision.

while south African teams haven't won as often as new Zealand teams we have won a few and competed in multiple finals against power house teams like the Crusaders.   the depth in quality made the Australian and New Zealand teams work for it.   it used to be an elite competition which is now reduced to a joke.

on the flip side south African teams learnt how to play northern hemisphere clash and thunder rugby which actually suits us and the result is European rugby got stronger with good competition coming in.

going back to the game, the All Blacks have always been a physical team that can play flashy running rugby, but they looked completely uninterested in dueling.  they also didn't like the scrum, never seen New Zealand look so uncomfortable

The womens rugby world cup starts today. @Stan your the only person who I can think of who has an interest in rugby and womens sports. You watching it at all?

Its in New Zealand but England go in as big favourites from what I have read. Would be pretty amazing to win the womens euros in football and the womens world cup in rugby in one year.
