Chose the right time for the skills and kept it simple passing when needing to as well unlike last week. Shakespeare said Vardy wasn't that serious so I hope that's the case. Will be a totally different line up against Sheffield United so that our first team can lose 4-0 away at Utd I think we need to take Sheff Utd seriously. They're no mugs and we need to do something in the cup this year I feel.

Whilst I agree and love a cup run, we've not done well in the league cup for years and would rather we do better and put some real effort in to winning FA Cup than league cup. Can see us losing the tie on Tuesday. They'll be well up for it with it being on TV too.

Shows that you have never watched us play. Matip has been very good for us. @topic Matip, Firmino and Robertson were really good today. I am loving our new LB. Shades of Steve Finnan, with the steady but reliable player vibes. And his deliveries are brilliant. I also liked Solanke. Seems much more purposeful than Origi. Happy Blue
Shocked to see Everton at 13's with the bookies, are they that bad or us that good? ..it's normally a close game, could be worth a punt at that price
Administrator Stan Posted August 20, 2017 Author Administrator Share Posted August 20, 2017 watching highlights on MOTD. Not sure what was controversial about the Southampton penalty given away in the last minute. Clear push in the back by Zabaleta who doesn't even try and head the ball anyway. Pogba should have seen red for 2 bookable offences. 1 cynical challenge and the other late. Jon Moss showing his incompetence once more. Man Utd on the whole though look good. Much more balance to the side than last season. Mkhitaryan linking up with Lukaku well. They're giving an early message out to the rest of the league. Quite fearful of how our game next week will go against them at Old Trafford Arsenal and doing what Arsenal seem to do best these days - dominate possession but not win the game. Why is Bellerin playing left wing back though when Monreal and Kolasinac are in the side? Jese seems to have had a brilliant debut for Stoke. Almost as if he's got a point to prove after injuries. There should have been a penalty for Diouf's challenge on Bellerin though.
Rick
Couple of good looking games today. Hopefully Spurs/ Chelsea is the dirty game I'm expecting it to be and hopefully Huddersfield follow up an impressive first game with another purposeful approach. Think this has come far too early in the season for us, can't see us getting anything from it to be honest. Would be happy with a point if we could muster ourselves accordingly.. Administrator Stan Posted August 20, 2017 Author Administrator Share Posted August 20, 2017 Spurs vs Chelsea is one of those games where it looks almost certain Spurs will win because of strength of their squad and lack of in Chelsea's due to injuries/suspensions/poor transfer activity but then Conte's men win it 1-0. Spurs are a good side these days, and not just a flash in the pan type good either... They would be difficult enough to try and beat even if we were at full strength but given the start we have made you would have to hand the edge to Spurs who collectively seem to have it all together as a team where we however have been found a little wanting.. Still, we could play a blinder and Spurs could have a stinker, these things happen.. Hope it's more entertaining than dirty, its not like either club has a lot riding on the opening few games so there should be no need for any silly stuff this early on.. Lets save all that for the title decider on the 31st March
Honey Honey
Pegging my entire hope on this game on Mikel Merino. Either he is world class and bosses the midfield or he's not and we lose
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 20, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted August 20, 2017 Arsenal were poor yesterday. Monreal completely duped by Jesé's simple run for the Stoke goal. Only Wenger would go into a season wanting to play three at the back but have one fit central defender on the first day of the season.
Honey Honey
Lol the negativity of our club from the sky pundits in the build up to this game is depressing me.

Bluewolf
Good to start the game with a cut to side of the head that allows the player to have a roll around on the floor...

Rick
How much did Newcastle pay for Mbemba? If it was anything over 11p then you've been ripped off well and truly. Absolutely awful.

Subscriber Dan+ Posted August 20, 2017 Subscriber Share Posted August 20, 2017 Not exactly cutting edge stuff for a game between two sides who have just come up but I can't see either of these coming out of the bottom five on this, Huddersfield have edged it though, Newcastle look poor. Bluewolf
Football can be fairly ordinary at times... Given that this is being played in the top league of English football you could easily believe you are watching a kick about on a Sunday over the park with the quality on show today. Honey Honey
The commentary is unbelievably bias towards Huddersfield and desperate for us to be hammered. Words like fierce and storm are laughable. Ok enough first half for an away day. Weaknesses in 2nd string players who we have no choice to play plus Atsu. Lascelles looks dogshit. Manquillo always has a mistake in him. I would get Atsu off for Jacob Murphy. Gayle doesn't look match sharp. Joselu for him on 60 perhaps. Hopefully this is where Rafa comes into his own. A fair bit of squad weakness defensively on show that could shoot ourselves in the foot though.
