couscous Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Up to episode 5/8 of Sharp Objects. Every time someone asks for a investigative thriller/murder mystery recommendation of Reddit its always Sharp Objects leading the pack or atleast in the top 5. So really wanted to check it out. I already have 3-4 theories on what is happening and I will be surprised if I didnt get it right with one of the theories. Its incredibly slow. Far too many abrupt cuts. Great cast. Lets see how it goes. Quote
couscous Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Just finished watching Sharp Objects. I thought it was really good. Quite slow but very well made and well acted. Definitely worth a watch. Quote

Episode 3 was the Woman in space and the beginning of the program and training the new ascans. Man I just love so far how they capture the era so perfectly around this. Im stoked to keep going. Quote

They play the alternative history angle perfectly, even more so in future seasons! Also, once you're finished with Season 1 and before you move on to Season 2, don't forget to check out the bonus content, it's incredible 1 1 Quote
couscous Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Troppo Set in rural Australia, when a Korean businessman goes missing it is up to disgraced former cop Thomas Jane and murder convict Nicole Chamoun to get to the bottom of the mystery. The location is beautiful. The acting and plot is good for about 7 episodes till it all fizzles out in the end. The finale is Dexter final season levels of bad. The lead lady turns into Tommy Wiseau in the final episode. The ending is so badly written and acted that it completely ruins the first 7 episodes. What a waste of time. Quote
6666 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 The White Lotus. Watched a season and a half. It's great. Quote
couscous Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Patriot(Prime) I heard about this show on a forum and decided to give it a try since I have nothing else to watch. It came out on Prime for 2 seasons in 2015. I am surprised that this show is not more popular. Its absolutely fantastic. My laptop is kept near the window and I fear that my neighbours will start thinking that I have gone crazy because I burst out laughing at random intervals. John is a spy who has to start working at a piping firm in Luxembourg that does business with Iran to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons. The humour is subtle but its brilliant. This is the best show I have watched since Nathan for you. Give it a try and you wont regret it. Quote
Subscriber Viva la FCB+ Posted September 25 Subscriber Posted September 25 Finished season 3 of The Bear kinda sad cus it was really mediocre. Id say there was about 3 interesting and worthwhile episodes. This season was largely filler and fairly drawn out, to the point where if the first season was on this level I probably would have stopped watching and had no interest. Quote
Cicero Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Grotesquerie. Not sure why it isn't getting enough attention or rated higher. I think its been brilliant so far. True Detective vibes. Quote
6666 Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Finished Season 4 of True Detective. Better than Season 2 & 3 with ease. Not sure how I felt about some of the borderline supernatural stuff though. Quote
Gunnersaurus Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Reacher season 1 8/10 Very entertaining show. A bit hard to follow at times and I had to Google a few bits but very good. 1 Quote

Having read all of Lee Child's and Jack Reacher's books, it is nice to see them being filmed. You should watch the 2 Reacher films that Tom Cruise made of the characters Reacher One Shot & Never Go Back, Cruise acted OK but never a Reacher. Cruise is around 5ft 4inc tall and the character Reacher is 6ft 5lnc tall and between 220-250 weight-wise so they changed the actor for the new films to Alan Ritchson who is 6ft 2inch tall and has done a lot of bodybuilding which makes a better Reacher. Just bought the latest Lee Child/Jack Reacher book and am in the middle of reading it Quote

How they've set this is up is fantastic. I had forgotten about the falling out with Costner but starting with that was perfect. Going back and getting to see some of the herd migration is what makes this show so good. The feature/tribute to Billy Klapper the guy making spurs was just uhh chef's kiss, Sheridan's touch for this kind of stuff is what sets him apart in the genre. Then taking it further with the talk about his not only his craft but Rip getting into it at the camp about cowboying in general is a dieing thing. Just beautifully done. And I havent even gotten into really where their taking the story, it all looks really promising for a wrap up. I saw they mentioned itl only be 5 episodes to finish this off but given where we're at I guess it makes sense. 1 Quote

Spoiler I just hope to see Jamie dying a slow, agonizing death My ideal ending would be the Indian tribe getting their land back. I speculated about it quite a while ago in the Yellowstone topic, and I have a feeling that it could actually work... Would be great to see. Have you watched Costner's epic western movie already? Really loved it... 1 Quote

There has to be some good to come it cant all be tragedy but well see. Ah I completely forgot about that. Ill have to see if its on one of the streaming services... Quote
