Went to Hamburg for a Stag Do in June. It's so big I think I only saw a quater of it and all we did was get smashed but yeah, it was decent. Reeperbahn was interesting. You don't half go on some stag dos abroad you mate It does sound brilliant though and something different. I've never been to Germany. After Barcelona in March(which is booked) then it's going to be Hamburg or Lisboa, I like the look of Lisboa, It's unique as fuck @Machado

Surprisingly it's not a place that I have really wanted to visit outside of seeing the the Grand Canyon. From what I've heard, it's expensive, but I'm really not into gambling or the bunny houses they have, so I just haven't been yet. I would like to see a Las Vegas Knights game there as the atmosphere looking amazing.

I would like to go back to Vegas to experience the casinos and gambling - couldn't even hang around there inside for too long before security come and tell you to go outside if you're not gonna gamble (obviously couldn't as underage at the time). Grand Canyon was phenomenal. We went in April 2007 and the Sky Walk thing they have there was opened a month before. But weather was too cloudy/windy for it to be open on the day we went so sadly missed out on that. We could see it from where we had been dropped off to though and it looked very perilous but daring. It's an experience I'd like to do though. You can't really fathom how vast the Grand Canyon is unless you've been there. You can do helicopter tours through the Colorado River as well if you have the time/money.

Guest
Anyone that has me on Facebook would know my next big trip is to Antarctica in Shackleton's route. I'm currently only working freelance but I am looking for work. I am hoping to go in November or December 2020. Wish me luck! @nudge
Subscriber nudge+ Posted November 2, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted November 2, 2019 Sounds great @Grizzly21. I'm starting to look into either a Trans-Siberian rail trip from Moscow to Beijing via the Trans-Mongolian route (and then the connecting train from Beijing to Saigon) or a Silk Road rail trip from Moscow to Beijing via the Central Asia. The second option interests me more but it would require a bit more effort to plan and sort everything out. It's been on my wishlist for quite a while now and I'm starting to seriously consider it for next year. The costs seem lower than I expected them to be and that would be a massive trip to go on... I'm running out of mates getting married, think I'm one of the last one's now which is not ideal. My GF's holiday is limited next year work wise so we may have to ease up on our trips. We have Rhodes for her Dad's 60th end of May booked in but other than that, nothing else. I'm keen for a city break. Would like to get Reykjavik done soon so I can cross that off but the fact its so 50/50 whether you see the Northern Lights clearly has always put me off. Still, the place has more to offer than that. For anyone that has been, any tips on best time to go? Better to hire a car and do a Golden Circle tour of your own?
True Blue
Next summer will probably be different than all the others for me. Planning to move to Germany and if everything works out could be there March/April 2020, so holidays wont be a priority.

Between late May and early Sept this year I started seeing a bird(quite a bit younger than me though with only being 22 ) from up at the uni, who I met when on my dinner brews at work. Her studies finished this year and then she moved down south for work in early September. It blagged my head like fuck, but I wouldn't want to hold a young woman back with such a bright future ahead of her. I ended up just stopping speaking to her(which was difficult) as trying to make it work with someone who moves to the other side of the country is just a recipe for disaster. Either way, the point I'm getting at is, due to this and also the fishing I was doing through the summer, I didn't end up going through with a few plans I had. I was hoping to have been to Barcelona in June and then maybe even somewhere at Christmas, but March next year will do and I will probably then go somewhere else in May or June. There is also the possibility of fishing in France next summer, as I've mentioned, but that probably won't be happening now due to my mate(who would be the one driving) going through some financial difficulties. If that is called off, then I will probably do as many trips away as I can. I might even have to take a trip to Amsterdam again later next year. I mean, it just draws me back. I even ended up taking a bar maid back to my hotel on my last night in April, after I'd gotten speaking to her in Feb over there. There is also the Golden Circle in Reykjavik isn't there? A lot of natural beauty there. You will have to let us know how it goes if you decide to go there mate. In Barcelona, my plan is to see as much as I can. I only spent a day there when I first went as a kid with my parents and we visited for the day after being on holiday in Salou. The second(and last time) was with my cousin in 2011 and we only spent just over a day and a half there, after all the fucking around. Watched football(vs Atletico), got pissed up in the centre around La Rambla area but didn't really see much. Similar to Dam, I saw fuck all the first 2 times I went with the boys, then on the 2 times I went on my own, I explored the fuck out of it and now I feel as though I actually know the City. Absolute mind boggling prices from Australia. Cheaper for me to fly to Argentina and go from there. I want to do it but need to find someone willing to also spend like $9k. I have s friend who did it basically for free as part of an environmental project thing. Edited November 5, 2019 by Toinho
