@Dr. Gonzo That's where being a rich country and having a professional setup helps converting that raw talent to its potential.

Also having an idiotic government that's continually fucking up the economy doesn't help them in any footballing sense - makes football a much lesser priority for the country tbh. The priorities for them is pissing off Israel, proxy wars with the Saudis, and siphoning off Iran's oil and gas money into their bank accounts. After that, they care about making sure people aren't so unhappy with things that they aren't taking to the streets - and when they have taken to the streets, to send out some Basijis to crack skulls open. Then somewhere at the bottom of the list of priorities is football.

Ok I think I understand what you're getting at, however I still disagree. That would make sense if you were comparing players such as Kante and Pogba.

In totally disagree with him on his concept of how talent should be observed and rewarded with a status.

Just because you're a football freestyler and you can manipulate the ball like in a circus act doesn't mean you're gonna end up being a great footballer.  That's not valid talent for football!

The combination of everything is a must and a player has to be able to execute his technique by converting it into results depending on where he plays on the field.

I remember Luis Aragonés back in the late 80s (I can't remember which player he said it to, I'd have to search for it) saying to a player while at training... "stop doing those tricks!  Who do you think you are?  I'm not going to ever pick you because you're disrespecting your colleagues and nothing comes of it most of the time.  Use it when you know how to use it.  Now go home you impertinent little shit!"

Indeed, Aragonés was famously known for not mincing his words and leaving the finale out of his sermon to the young player, this is what I believe to be true.

My favorite was from Cruyff.

Technique is not being able to juggle a ball 1000 times. Anyone can do that by practicing. Then you can work in the circus. Technique is passing the ball with one touch, with the right speed, at the right foot of your team mate.

Someone who has juggled the ball in the air during a game, after which four defenders of the opponent get the time to run back, that’s the player people think is great. I say he has to go to a circus.

I've literally tried to stress this the entire thread xD

Yeah that were my obvious reasons, don't know how divided football on the base of race or religion :coffee:

Don't be silly!  Do you want me to quote World Cup posts from yourself?

The same way I've always seen the Celtic v Rangers divide based on Cathlicism v Protestantism as absolutely ridiculous (I'm not going to use the banned word) and pure stupidity.  Anyone supporting a team, national or individual footballer based on race or religion is a moron.

Now let's leave it... Ey! Let's be good boys. Both of us. ;)B|

Forgot that one on Cruyff.  It's bloody famous enough!

Well there you go! Who's gonna argue with that.  It's logical, brutal and factual.

Then that's not talent.

Talent is being able to do it and translating it into football.

No point in bringing up Colombians that can make the ball move like its on magnets if nothing comes of it.

I think this post defined it well.

Yes, but that's because I view efficiency and talent in 2 different categories. Like I said, a good footballer is made up of several steps. Messi has everything at a very high standard, hence why he's the best footballer in the world.

We can agree to disagree, but again for you to fully understand me I'd have to write a bible explaining everything, and I just simply don't have time.

Yeah, and some.  What if I said I support Catholic countries doing well?  If I came out with that I'd vomit on myself.  Or if a black friend of mine said to me he supports countries with more black players or a white friend telling me he supports countries that use more white players.

Don't  be stupid! But listen to me... It'll serve you well mate because I'm a lot older than you and if you're a good Muslim you'll understand this.  Don't go down that road because it doesn't benefit YOU in the slightest.  Keep it real!

You're the one that started the thread so you're gonna have to do it mate!  I like Bibles, all sorts of Bibles!  Just make them inclusive. I think @Azeem will now agree that this is for the best, for everyone. ;)

xD You have a soft spot for Argentina because of the connection with your country. I remember Toinho saying to support England after Australia got knocked out because i believe they are close countries.

I should stop saying support because when back in the old thread in the intro thread when i said i support Portugal people were all like whu ? why do you suppot Portugal what connection you have with them :coffee: and i was like dude i just enjoy them doing well and i like them.

Supporting s country because it has cultural similarities to your doesn't involve anything discriminative or anything based on doctrine.  It's not the same thing so don't continue this.

It's WRONG!  It's not nice... It's exclusive and has all sorts of negative connotations, more so when it's religion or race for obvious historical AND present reasons.

Trust me..l drop that chip on your shoulder. Drop your religion out of the socialising you do with other people because I've never seen you as. Muslim.  I see you and WANT to see you as Azeem (if that's your name as that's the only thing I've got to go on). You are your own person and your religion is something that's personal to you.  Don't separate, and divide!  There is no Muslim agenda here and it's all in your head.

I would have left this forum way earlier if that was the case considering the stuff some posters post here.

5. France

Pretty much all of Africa is listed within here, a continent with immense talent and physique but not much brains. The only reason they are lower is because not everyone is French. Sure a lot of them were born in France but not EVERYONE.

Marine Le Pen called, she wants her account back.

In terms of young talent, I think Japan does generate a lot of talent. I saw them in the U17 and have a lot about them. They just didn't feel geled and mentally weak like always. Despite winning the tournament, they didn't impress me much but I did see talent in there, and at the World Cup as I said, there was a reason they didn't roll over. The manager was able to make the most of it's talent. They just lacked a few other things that didn't make them contenders.

Colombia and Brazil are the top producers of talent on the continent. With the former, they fall behind Argentina because of the better mentality and higher standard physical training there as opposed to Colombia itself. And as for Brazil, they aren't that centralized and have so many people that they are able to consistently churn out talent. You also need to consider the samba culture.

I'm not basing greatness or if they are good or bad! I'm saying that I don't think they are the kings of talent aside from a few like Messi and Maradona.

Mateo Cardona and Reimond Manco have insane talent and if that's all it took in football, they'd be playing for top clubs in top leagues. However, they don't have anything else and that's why they are playing for small clubs in small leagues.

Who the fuck even said we were the kings of talent?, are you actually retarded that you cannot read or comprehend other's posts? Everyone said we were undoubtedly one of the top 5 historical talent producers yet you continue to ignore what people say and instead insist on responding to a ghost poster that only exists in your mind and apparently is saying we're the kings of talent, you are like a broken record.

That's as stupid as saying Japan/Korea and Colombia are among the top 5 current talent producers. You cannot even name 5 top under 25 players from each of those countries, it's just another one of your crazy, bizarre and ignorant statements like Ochoa being the best keeper in the world.

Colombia isn't and has never been a better talent producer than us, that's just your imagination. Us and Brazil have always been the top 2 talent producers in the Americans and among the top 5 in the world and continue to do so.

Current talent producers are:

France

Brazil

Argentina

Belgium

Germany/Spain

France is leading in Europe and World right now.

From Asia Japan is preparing their U23s for the Olympics and the current Japanese coach was in fact in charge of the U23s before so if he stays and the youth come up to the top level they can have a really fun generation of players.

Argentina in South America, club scene in Argentina is far better than Brazil which i think would make a clear gap between the two in future.
