Cicero
I expect it to be blown away if it won over 1917.

So friends and family I know that have seen it say its very good but not as good as Dunkirk Ill start knocking off others on the nom list so I have something to compare it to but the only other one Ive seen is Joker thus far. I’d go as far as to saying it’s the best war movie I’ve ever seen. I meant Parasite better blow me away if it won best picture over 1917.

It was miles better than Dunkirk in my honest opinion.
Danny
Cinematography was great for 1917 but as a war film it was good but not the most amazing I’ve ever seen, still prefer Dunkirk and to go back a bit Saving Private Ryan. Warhorse too tbh
DeadLinesman
Thing was 1917 didn’t need some deep storyline convoluted by character development. And Harry fucking Stiles.
Cicero
Both were one of a kind films. Dunkirk for its non stop suspense and 1917 for the cinematography and one shot filming. Preferred the latter.
ASF
I was just glad that Tsubasa's fantasious prediction, that Shia LaBeouf would win an Oscar between 2015 and 2020, didn't came true.

Subscriber Mel81x+ Posted September 9, 2020 Subscriber Share Posted September 9, 2020 https://www.theguardian.com/film/2020/sep/08/oscars-academy-awards-diversity-race-gender So now, if you're not diverse enough you can't get best picture. I don't get why a creative industry needs to adhere to any of these non-sensical rules. Not all movies are made based on inclusion and this seems the exact opposite of letting creativity shine through.
Subscriber nudge+ Posted September 9, 2020 Subscriber Share Posted September 9, 2020 Putting quotas into creative process and artistic freedom. Wow.
6666
Films should only be nominated on merit. It shouldn't have anything to do with chasing good PR from airheads on social media that don't actually care about films.
