In terms of where I'll be staying, who knows at this point. I've heard getting a flat around the west of Edinburgh isn't as tough as it's made out sometimes.

Not a bad area, we stayed in Roseburn just up from Haymarket and next to Murrayfield Stadium, some nice pubs around there the Roseburn Bar being one of them, you will be close to the Hearts ground in Gorgie, I don't think it would pay to go into one of the pubs near Tynecastle with a Hoops top on. Roseburn Bar, we lived in a nice flat to the right of the photo, me and the wife had many a pint in that pub years back.

Went to work in that building a few years back when I use to work for the bank.

My answer was genuine as well. I'm pretty sure that Mo was either from Egypt (Africa) or he was from Oman (not Africa lol)… or somewhere in the Middle East that wasn't Saudi Arabia. But I think he was Egyptian. No idea though now that I think about it more. @Stan and I were Nigerian for a World Cup though

Never really ran into Mo. Going by that World Cup I'd be half Swiss which when I look on it now isn't half that bad.

Dr. Gonzo Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Yeah Edinburgh is a great city, loved my 3 days there
Inverted Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 As a history lover you really can't beat Edinburgh as far as Scotland goes. I love Glasgow, but it was a relatively minor town before the industrial revolution and you're hard-pressed to find more than a handful of sites in from before the Victorian era. Edinburgh is absolutely bursting with places relevant to some of the key moments in our history like the conflicts of the mid-1600s and the Scottish Enlightenment. Glasgow was actually almost as important in the Enlightenment, but the old university site is gone and the city is nothing like it was in the 1700s. With Edinburgh, you can walk down some streets and know you're in surroundings that Adam Smith or David Hume would recognise.
