Oh that I wont disagree with and the great console war that started between them and Nintendo is a fascinating read in two books Console Wars and the Rise and Fall of SEGA. They are an American-based company but they had many issues with the naming of it and the Japanese division ultimately came up with a name they thought was going to steer the company out of the business they were in (like Nintendo and CAPCOM) which was the arcade market. The rest is history and a superb read about how they copied and then even invented some great games. Great stuff to read if you're into consoles and their history.
