  1. Missions (2017) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6445112/ "The series focuses on the crew of a European collaboration spaceship which, with the funding of an eccentric Swiss billionaire, has designs on being the first manned craft to land on Mars. Much to the dismay of all on board however, just before the culmination of their 10-month journey to the Red Planet they are made aware of a video sent by a NASA ship that has overtaken them and already landed on the planet thanks to a revolutionary engine technology that cut the travel time to a fraction of what it was for the Europeans. The bad news doesn’t end there however, as the tape contains a cryptic warning from the Americans pleading with the crew not to land as something far too dangerous is happening on the surface. The crew then learns that the tape was sent days before and there has been no contact with the Americans since. The first episode ends with the crew managing a less than ideal landing on the surface of the planet and a cliffhanger promising there is more to the show than a simple jaunt through the solar system." Science fiction the way it should be, Kubrick would have loved it. And I think at least some of you would enjoy it too. @Bluewolf @Tommy @Viva la FCB

  3. On the face of it, yesterdays fixture shouldn’t have any baring on the season ahead. Alas the performance was so poor and worryingly lacked any kind of effort from the players or tactical change throughout the game by the manager to help turn the tide of City’s dominance. Look I know I have flagged up the space between the defence and midfield when teams attack us in my thoughts after each of the pre-season games, but it was illuminated to a new level by City. The new signing is pretty damn useless without the ball. Fabregas is a non entity once the ball passes him towards our goal and poor Barkley, who is the only mobile midfielder out there, is rushing back after his managers suicidal high press, past his fellow two midfielders. The new signing ambles back as thou he knows he is a shoe-in for the starting 11. If you have the chance to watch the game again, take a look at the 4 defenders faces once the ball runs dead. Talk about a picture being painted of the missing midfielders. Also, the 2nd goal I counted 6 Chelsea players taken out by one ball (Including Alonso) into midfield. None of these managed to get back to help the exposed 3 defenders and standing still Jorginho. Too give the manager a little credit, he admitted there needs to be improvement defensively and spoke of lack of fitness in the middle of the park. I’d call it a lack of legs and discipline. Time will tell if he makes the correct decisions to put that right, cause if he does not, its going to be a bloody long season. I felt the bloke wearing our number 29 shirt looked a carbon copy of the guy who used to wear the number 9 shirt. Both are fucking useless and I understand Richard Dunne pretty much said the same on BT. I don’t care what anyone says… there is a player in Barkley and I was very pleasantly surprised to read the manager likes him a lot too. He will be helped when the better players return and having Giroud infront of him will also be a big bonus to him and the rest of the team. He will also benefit from the more disciplined Kante. I have said it before, Sarri says he likes to improve players, well he likes Barkley so over to you Mr. Sarri. He is getting what looks to be a very fit player who is motivated. Rare in this squad? Just a word for Willy in goal who had a good game & kept the total conceded down to a almost respectable 2. Made me think, Someone at City looked at the gaff-prone Caballero while he was there, and thought: "Bravo will sort out all our problems." That really happened! Anyone with an ounce of football understanding could write so much more on our terrible display yesterday. I will spare anyone who has got this far down my thoughts other than to say, hearing the manager say after the game “we have to work” had me shaking my head thinking “we have heard that before” Obviously we have to give the “new” old guy time. His statement that we only need one more signing has him firmly in my idiot box cause very few of the players we currently have in our squad are suited to the high press high back line squeezing up the pitch tactic he seems unable to change through a game. Hand on heart, we have to understand this depleted Chelsea would never be ready to take on the runaway defending champions having worked on a completely new system for just three weeks. Note to self:- Must take “chill pill” before during and after our games for the next 3 months as I suspect its gonna hurt lots before it gets better. Meanwhile the two Belgium's return today ~ Oh to be a fly on the wall at that meet!

  7. I thought there were 2 seasons when I first pulled it up but one is a similar sex related one called 'submissions' which must have been yanked up during my search... I hope I don't accidentally click on the wrong series by complete mistake.. These things tend to happen after a long day when my eyes get a bit sleepy and I can't focus properly on the keyboard... Having just double checked it they are 24 minutes long so it might all get a bit confusing...

  10. The problems we're having with the gaps and balance in midfield are a consequence of us not pressing well enough. Teams have firstly found that space when they play out well and beat our original high press either because we've timed it wrong, it's not been executed well enough or positionally the team isn't in the right shape. Or sometimes it's just extremely good play from the opposition and they get out. If you're pressing the opposition high and they beat that, there's always going to be a lot of space for them to exploit, it's just a matter of how well we react and adjust. This however shouldn't happen too much if the team is functioning well from a tactical point of view. High pressing is designed to condense the pitch and close the exit routes but at times we’re allowing teams the space to find a way out. The second time it occurs is when we're on the attack and the opposition counter quickly, this is what @The Liquidator mentions above where it appears a lot of the players were taken out the game on Sunday. This is again a tactical thing, it's how quickly our players counter press, the positional play of the players, how deep our defence is, the relationship and shape of the different parts of the team. I agree this is in part down to the dynamism of the players we have but it's also something that needs to be fine-tuned and worked on from a tactical point of view. We were extremely good at counter pressing under Conte. And I'm hoping Kanté's return would be massive boost for us in this area, arguably Kanté's best attribute is counter pressing and winning the ball high up the pitch, some people tend to believe his best work happens in his own half just in front of the defence but I'd say further up is where we see some of his best endeavors. When Kanté was absent last season, you could really see the difference in our midfield and that was in a more conservative playing style as well. This leads to Fabregas. As I've mentioned too many times on here, Fabregas performed to a very high level in Conte's first season, you know it's very difficult to get a full season's consistency from him but if managed well, he's an asset and can be a useful squad member. The thing with him though is that he's got a bit comfortable over the years being the only central midfielder of his ilk at the club, meaning that if we need to go on the attack or need help on the ball in a game the only option we have is turning to him to help us with this. Cesc was the answer if we needed to find a goal or alternatively if we needed help controlling or moving the ball in midfield, both from deep and further up the pitch. I for one think that we should have maybe been a bit wiser in either finding another player of his style to have in the squad or even with him getting on a bit looking to replace him. We have Jorginho in a deeper position now but we also have three central players in midfield meaning that this reliance on Fabregas will continue. For the record I wouldn’t replace him, just find a similar player that can do a similar job to act as competition. Finally, on this topic of the team’s balance. It’s worth reminding us of the team’s performance away to Man City last season where there was absolutely no space for City to exploit (Conte was obsessed with balance and closing the spaces) but where we just sat off and got mugged off for most of the game. As we know Sarri will need time to implement his ideas and for the players to get fully use to things from a tactical point of view but it could potentially get a lot worse before it gets better and I’m just hoping the board give Sarri the time. Some of the space which the opposition have found against us so far under Sarri, is similar to the space teams were finding against Pep’s Man City in his first season and funnily enough this is something we exploited against them in our 3-1 win at the Etihad. Let’s just hope Mr. Sarri is given the time, then secondly, that he has the management necessary to get things right.

  11. seen on Twitter a thread that there's a lot of corrupt government involvement here, apparently from a group called BCL which is a student-activist group 'working with' government. This BCL group have taken guns and machetes to these protesting students. Irony being that the 'protest' actually started quite peacefully and amicably by children and some headway was being made on road safety/traffic conditions. But then suddenly BCL got involved and it turned nasty. Interesting to see how the media report this - apparently government have shut down mobile services so that pictures etc are prevented from being shared en masse on just how bad the violence is by BCL. They sound like a nasty piece of work. Wonder when there'll be some intervention, if any, from any other countries to stop the stuff like the rape and murders of women and beatings of journalists recently. It's hard to fathom for sure, even more so when you know the government are on the side of this BCL group, and not innocent children wanting to make roads safer after friends were killed by a bus

  16. This is a really sad and scary news story. They are some of the most endearing and fascinating animals on the planet imo. Not much compares to the wonderful dancing agility of the Sifaka lemurs as they gracefully leap from thorn tree to thorn tree - it really is appalling to consider they might become extinct soon - and all due to our blindness and stupidity - the world is shouldn't be ours to destroy https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-45035560
