  1. Finally found the plans of the ship... I was getting lost everytime I went to the bathroom at night!... Check it out carefully; it even has a "liquor storage" (24) right next to the crew cabins (23) We did get ourselves the best ship possible indeed...

  2. Alright Crew... This is acting captain Mulder requesting everyone to the Command Deck... @nudge @CaaC - John @Mel81x @Azeem I would like to introduce our newest crew member @Rucksackfranzose Wall-E And of course our other 2 Robot companions R2 and Robbie First order of business is selecting a Captain... I am out and so is Nudge so we could either leave it to Robbie or select Ellen ( Mel81x ) as she/he ( does it really matter?? ) has shown that they are also a competent flight officer.. Previous experience on The Nostromo is a clincher for me.. Also on the Agenda, If we are happy with our ship it's called the 'Arcadia' the fact that we managed to rob this from another bunch of space pirates shows just how bad ass we are.. Happy to take alternative names though if any are forthcoming. Also, and I have given this some thought that our sudden descent into Piracy was quick, It seems we did not hesitate to stab good intentions in the back and leave them buried on an unexplored dead planet... However, to help us all sleep a little better at night can I suggest we form ourselves into the 'A-Team' of space piracy.. Travelling the far reaches of space kicking arse and helping out the down trodden, A bit like the The Rebel Alliance if you will, that way we get to still behave badly, blow shit up, shoot things and all feel like we have done the universe a big favour... We can of course rob all the decent technology and supplies we find along the way as this ship does not run on solar winds alone.. Lastly Wall-E needs to get into Nudges quarters and clean up all those empty bottles of booze as I don't fancy getting hit in the head with multiple glass bottles floating about if we should lose gravity at some point.. Any other business???

  4. Seeing the Captains quarters I might just change my mind about leading this rag tag bunch of space misfits.. Such a beautiful ship.. striking fear in the hearts of all who behold her... Ramming speed!!!! prepare to be boarded motherfuckers!! If I remember correctly the ship is run by a female entity of sorts and is self healing which makes her a most fearsome proposition..

  7. Arcadia sounds good! I also agree with giving the captain's position to Mel81x as it looks like he's/she's/it is the only person onboard that can fly this thing anyway! Robbie has more important things to do... speaking about that, who's in charge of the supplies??? I need some free space in the cargo room for a few boxes of, erm... personal items...

  8. I agree to everything said above except for me being the flight officer and captain of this crazy adventure. From past experience I work best when I am not running the show and am thrust into tough situations and I personally like it that way. Having said that may I suggest we get @nudge an IV bag filled with her alcohol of choice so that we don't cause unnecessary broken glass hazards across the vessel. Never had to deal with this one on the Nostromo.

  9. We're not real Pirates are we till we start drinking some Rum I suppose. So you're safe @nudge. Where we off to first, lets get the adventure started. I am half convinced we're playing some weird form of Dungeons and Dragons here haha.

  15. Most of my reading was done in my pre-teen early teen years, growing up with Marvel, 2000AD and such like comics were a big part of my youth, Obviously as football, punk, clubbing and girls started popping up it fell by the wayside although I have always maintained an interest over the years on and off... Some great artists out there and with modern computer technology the artwork is really being brought to life so it's always held more than a passing interest for me. Heavy Metal is another superb Magazine but I was not aware of that in my younger days I only stumbled on that in later life.. When I look back at characters like the Hulk and have seen them go from black&white pages and early tv attempts with Lou Ferrigno for example to full screen CGI films has been amazing really.. All those characters brought to life on the big screen.. Glad to have seen it all in my lifetime

  17. Makes it look ridiculously easy though! During the middle overs I thought Australia wrestled back well and kept the bowling tight. Fielding sometimes let them down with a couple of run-out chances and dropped catches but in a tense tight game like that, there's not many other players you'd want at the crease than Dhoni. Well supported by Kedar Jadhav too.

  19. to that last bit. Yeah if I'm still out in San Diego, I'd be happy to get smashed with you one night. I'm planning on moving to the Bay Area sometime pretty soon, but that's all tentative shite and I don't really know when it's going to happen (if ever). I think San Diego's got the most breweries in the USA, but even if that's not true, it's definitely got the most in California. It's a beer mecca out here, so if you like beer this is a good place to visit. As far as if it's cheaper... it's tough to say - some things are cheaper in LA, some things are cheaper in San Diego. It's roughly all about the same price. The Bay Area is pricier than both of those & doesn't have the sunshine and beaches. The flight's a bit longer to San Diego, but not by much - by like 30-45 minutes. Vegas is definitely a fun place for getting absolutely smashed, and yeah that 5 day "night" was absolutely mental. And yeah, we wandered all over Vegas - not just the strip - saw a lot of weird shite and met a lot of weird people. Bonded with an Irish bloke at a casino that was following some American lad wearing a Man United shirt with Rooney on the back, harassing the fuck out of him . Not sure I met a single person (other than the people working in Vegas), that was sober. I think the only other place in the US that compares to it for going absolutely mental with drinking is New Orleans.

  21. Yes although HAL killing the crew was the result of him going insane as a result of this error... Basically his primary programming was "accurate processing of information without distortion or concealment", yet his orders for the mission required him to keep the discovery of the Monolith and the real purpose of the mission a secret for reasons of national security. This contradiction created the aforementioned Hofstadter-Moebius loop reducing HAL to experiencing symptoms of schizophrenia and paranoia. So in the end HAL made the decision to kill the crew, allowing him to obey both his hardwired primary instructions to report data truthfully, and his orders to keep the purpose of the mission a secret. Poor HAL; so misunderstood and as always it's the fault of the humans in the end!

  22. They want to keep the finale entertaining. May GoT fans have personal ties with either Jon, Daenerys, Sansa, Arya, Bran, Tyrion, the Hound, etc. If they were to kill one of them off before the final season, those people who had those personal ties with that now dead character may be less interested in the final season. It's entirely suited for the viewer. Jaime IMO, killing him off would of been so wrong. He is bar none, in my opinion, the most interesting character in the series. Not to mention he has the greatest character development I have ever seen in a television show. I wanted him dead after the first season, now I pray he stays alive. He still has a role to play.

  28. I've watched this, mainly through streaming and wasn't totally taken with it at first. I've recently acquired the DVDs and it's a much better watch, though I'm not quite a superfan like many are. I hope the Ice people come and smash everyone else to pieces, they are the only likeable mob in it.
