I cant really think of a show that had that far of a drop in quality, through 5/6 seasons it was arguably the best ever and to see how this last season ended is just bloody tragic. The last episode wasnt even much of a let down; I expected very little and sure enough thats what we got.2 points

Rewatching this last season helps, there’s so much you miss it initially. Dany was a dragon and eventually became a tyrant herself although her intention was good her drive to get there made her no different. Jon put duty above love and he is the shield that guards the realms of men. Bran wont die, knows all history and can’t be corrupted. The starks started out as weak pawns in the game, by the end the 4 are all that’s standing 2 are monarchs and two are free to roam and do whatever makes them happy. I think this will be GRRM’s ending I wouldn’t bet against it now tbh2 points

Bran being King is weird and not set up well at all, and some aspects were rushed, but I thought most of the resolutions were satisfying, Jon gets to go North, Sansa rules Winterfell, Arya gets to do whatever the fuck she likes, Tyrion is hand of the king, Sam is a maester (though he shouldn't be grand maester all of a sudden), Brienne and Podrick are knights, Dany died in the manner she was supposed to and the iron throne got melted after several people died trying to get or control it and keep it, from the Mad King to Viserys to Renly and Stannis to Tywin, all of the Tyrells, Littlefinger, Euron, Cersei and finally Daenerys.1 point

I agree with all of that to be fair. I think the Brock decision and the wildcard rule have come about because of the present raitings. However, they're suffering now because of the decision making process that's expanded for years. People aren't deciding to not watch Raw because Rollins is a bad champion, or because AJ Styles isn't interesting, or because Becky isn't doing well. Its years of part time Champions, years of people past their prime getting main event opportunities, years of glass ceilings being placed in front of popular talent. No matter how many times we are told change is coming we know they always revert back to the same rubbish. I guess though the network, sponsors, event organisers etc who pay WWE the big bucks dont see it like that. All there graphs will show that when Brock is there raitings are on the increase, as are when they bring back a fossil from the attitude era. It's this short termism approach I reckon that hinders the company in the long run. Fox for example will no doubt be delighted to have Brock Lesnar back. The only long term positive from MITB is the mental freedom they gave Ali, Andrade, Ricochet and McIntyre suggests to me that they are all rated highly. Oh, and the one thing that did annoy me at MITB. Them referring to the next Saudi show as good or bigger than Wrestle Mania. I mean come on What a way to piss on the last 35 years. You cant claim to be leading the way in a female sports evolution with statements like that. I do hope people refuse to stream Double or Nothing and pay the PPV price for it. They've got a chance to be on ITV long term in the UK which is mad. Better exposure than WWE now have with BT Sport (arguably bigger than Sky too as Sky never really pushed it). Theres a real chance to shock the industry here. WWE may make more money with their tours of Saudi Arabia but not having a grip in the major Western countries would really irritate them.1 point

Junaid has always been neglected tbh, even so after his performance against India in 2012-13, overshadowed by Amir ? but this isn't something new its a cultural problem in the sub continent people tend to pull each other down whenever one is making progress out of jealousy and insecurities. Missed the last World Cup because of injury if he ends his career without a World Cup game than it will be truly a shame. Nothing has been made public about Malik's issue so can't say anything1 point

Farage has blacklisted Channel 4 from his events for its investigations into his finances. Wow I'm so happy Farage is here to fight our PC anti-free speech culture.1 point

Even that scene doesn't really make sense. Jamie and Cersei were at the top of the pile of bricks, they weren't standing on a pile of bricks before the roof collapsed... why weren't they at the bottom? And if they wanted that powerful on screen moment of him finding his brother and sister and mourning their deaths... they probably should have killed them in a different way, as opposed to revealing it in a way that... really just doesn't make sense. Whole lotta continuity errors in a show that was once famous for it's fantastic writing. Honestly, it's a huge shame. The cast and staff of the show deserved better than the sloppy writing it received in it's last season (I'm willing to forgive the standard of previous seasons, I think Season 7 got a lot of slack from fans despite pacing and writing issues... because the expectation was it was a season setting up more for the final season. HBO shows and unsatisfying final seasons, though. I don't know why I expected anything different.1 point

Let's just hope that George RR Martin finishes the books and we get the conclusion we deserve. This show has been all over the place since the books ended, and it dumbed down a whole lot. It had it's decent moments, like, in the last episode I really felt for Tyrion when he found Jaime's and Cersei's bodies, but all in all it was meh. Not at all what you would have expected if you're used to the standard of the show from Season 1 to 4.1 point

Me too. Fairly certain Martin wanted to tie this with the prince that was promised prophecy, but the directors went another route and only made it become the domino effect to Dany's madness. Still, I like how they ended it. (still overjoyed he didn't die) The whole point of Jon going back to the Night's Watch was the symbolism. Jon, in every sense, is the protector of the realm. The only real threat now is the monsters that lie behind the wall. What gave Jon purpose was serving, and Bran knew that when he sent him back there.1 point

Cercei did nothing during the armistice meeting, so the possibility of 'having their guard down' is highly probable. People acting genuinely shocked that Dany, Tyrion, and Varys didn't 'know better' when heading to Dragonstone, are downright nitpicking. Why didn't Robert Baratheon question that all of his legitimate children have blonde hair? How did Khal Drogo, the greatest warrior of Essos, die of a small wound? Why did Robb, who has won every major battle and had great character, allowed a woman he just met to have his guard down and completely forget about the war? Why did Jaqen H'ghar, a master of manipulation, assassination, and disguise, get captured by low Lannister guards? Why didn't Stannis, the greatest naval commander in Westeros, lead the battle of Blackwater? Why did Prince Oberyn, arguably the greatest fighter in Westeros, let his guard down and not finish off the Mountain? These are just a small handful of the numerous mistakes found in seasons 1-4. So to actually criticise a scene, that is entirely plausible, screams of nitpicking.1 point
