  1. With the fine margins that managers are being sacked VAR is the way forward. It's unfortunately just being implemented poorly in this country. Why is the ref not allowed to go to the touch line? Why do the people reviewing the incidents not know the rules? Why is everything being reviewed and not clear and obvious errors? Once these get addressed it will be fine. It's worked well overseas and in the world cup. It can work well here. I'd suggest that over two thirds of the people that complain about VAR are the type of fans that moan about change. I was at the London Stadium when it took forever to review the Jordan Ayew goal, was I bothered? Nope because I knew they would come to the right decision. I was more annoyed after the Liverpool and Arsenal games when I saw decisions that hadn't been reviewed which really should have been.

  2. Latest content update for Elder Scrolls Online is really good. The biggest new city looks like some run-down South-East Asian town with remnants of past glory everywhere to be seen, and the story content is very good by both MMO and Elder Scrolls standards.

  4. Liz got me into candles now I love them, we have them all over the place and some Liz won't light as they are sentimental and given to her from aunts & uncles now deceased from years ago.

  5. I do love them though, I can remember when they had the power cuts during the '70s and sitting in the house with candles lit and just nattering away thinking about old times when there was no electric and just candles and log fires, you kept yourself occupied by reading or just talking.

  6. Done with Fallen Order. Good ride it's been and I have to say I am a fan of the battle system just because it allows you to attack opponents in a myriad of ways and the force-charge is a nice feature to adopt in combat. Mastering parry and side-step/evade is a total boon on higher levels because even the hardest of enemies can be beaten safely once you get these two under your belt. I think EA have done this game some good justice and its definitely much better than I originally anticipated. Now, give us a game where I can choose my force path (like KOTOR) and they may actually have a GOTY on their hands. I'll spend some time running about and finishing planet exploration till the end of the week before it finds its way into the archive folder.

  7. Sheffield United's equaliser v Manchester United - euphoric, iconic moment for them tainted by VAR. It just isn't the same when you're having to wait to find out if it counted or not.

  8. We haven't had a striker score at the rate he has for a good while now, you'd perhaps have to go back to Costa to get stats at least close to what Abraham is achieving at the moment. His hold up play, for the most part, has been decent. There's perhaps doubt developing about his effectiveness against better opposition but I only think we can judge him in this area after he's led the line for us at least a season or two. This belief about giving him more time to make full judgment can be said about a lot of our players at the moment and Lampard and the team in general really, I don't think we can become too conclusive until after a season or two has passed. Kepa, on the other hand, is coming up to nearly 2 years with us now and we're perhaps in a better position to judge. We'll see how he finishes the season but you could probably say overall he's been a little underwhelming, last season he had good periods where his price tag looked justified and other periods where you couldn't help but think he performed below expectations. Inconsistent is hence perhaps a word you could use. Anyway, we'll see what the rest of the season has in store for him.

  9. Always nice to see players and clubs do something nice for the fans, especially for kids and people with any kind of disabilities.

  10. The greatest secret of this election - that for differing reasons, neither the Tories or Labour want to be made totally obvious - is that Labour's position is essentially quite a run-of-the-mill, common-sense economic programme. But we've allowed our sensibilities to be warped so much that economically-illiterate austerity and wholesale impoverishment seems like the natural order of things. Labour are in an economic sense the least radical option.
