  2. Pomegranate also sort of rhymes with immigrant. It's easy to forget that the older generations of Australians also used rhyming slang, it isn't something exclusive to London or parts of England. My grandfather like to use it, as well has make up names for everyday items. A car's accelerator became the 'agitator', so he'd say nonsense like 'pop her into gear, hit the agitator and head down the frog'.

  3. Convict is an insult, pom isn't. Pommy bastard and whinging pom are insults but there are no documentaries that exclusively refer to the English are pommy bastards. If an English person is insulted by 'pom' they've got it all twisted, it's just a nickname like Kiwi or Yanky

  4. I'm not really fat or anything, just heading in the wrong direction. My diet is not awful, it's mainly the beer which gives me more more calories than I should have. It's as much to do with mental well being as physical. I've got a friend who will be coming with me, but I think he knows what he wants more than me. Thanks for the advice, I'm going to try and do my own thing at first and then maybe ask one of the trainers if they can advise me some sort of plan.

  5. This is why I stopped playing the latest F1 game and thought I'd try the first 3 Unchartered. I wanted the fun and enjoy elements when playing games. With F1 there is loads to do before the actual race. Sometimes you can't be arsed but it's essential to the game.

  6. It didn't bother me really be called a Pom, when I worked in the Victorian railways as a shunter they called me Pommy as a nick-name and I got used to it and when I joined the army I had a right Australian accent so I got the nick-name there as Aussie, and that name has stuck ever since.

  7. Betis currently sitting 3rd in the table and have real potential to get a Champions League spot given the state of Barcelona and the league in general. Pellegrini's done a fantastic job. He hasn't reinvented the wheel tactically but is a great man manager and is getting the best out of most of the players, even those like Alex Moreno who had always been an accident waiting to happen until this season. Like I said he hasn't changed things massively tactically but has given the likes of Canales and Fekir the freedom to just do their thing and everybody else is chipping in. All this done on a small budget and with very few signings. The Betis squad on paper is top six in the league really and they're finally where they should be. Let's see how they finish the season. Villarreal, Málaga, Madrid and now Betis, he's well-loved in Spain and he has made up for any loss of credentials after his West Ham stint. Class act.

  8. It's the repetitive rule-breaking that is angering me. Fine if he wasn't at the party on 18th Dec. Plenty of others were and that's also angering. But he's preached in front of the cameras at daily briefings about no indoor gathering and no parties anyway, and there is he doing quizzes. Nadhim Zahawi is a prick as well sticking up for him defending that 'he worked with those people for months and this was a way of saying thank you'. Fuck off mate. We weren't allowed to see our families and friends and our work teams for months on end and we didn't get a chance to 'party' with them either. Twat.

  9. Some countries are already paying "compensation" for the families of those who get vaccinated voluntarily and suffer serious side effects or die. Thailand, for example, has already paid out 621 million baht to 6,177 recipients, with over 1,500 cases still being investigated. I think most countries have similar schemes, it's just a question of how well it works and how willing are they to accept the claims of injury/deaths. Also, pharmaceutical companies should not be given full immunity from legal liability, imo.

  10. Voluntarily being the key word. If someone is forced to take the vaccine, they’re being forced against their will. I have voluntarily taken it. That means I accept the risk.

  11. Loving the second Unchartered remastered. Is a good mix and the world is quite open. Done missions in the jungle and now it's urban warfare in a city. A real good mix so far.
