  1. I'll be in Toronto next week for work but I plan on breaking away to see Niagara from the Canada side, as it's supposed to be the superior side of the falls. Also have a lakehouse booked in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for the end of June. Can't wait.

  3. I think that's easier said than done. Taking 2 states for example: Alabama and California - the cost of living in Alabama is much lower. Average rent in Alabama is a bit more than $800, average rent in California is a bit more than $1800 (and in some cities - like all of the big ones, finding anywhere with rent that low means you've found an absolute shithole). Food's 25% more expensive, transportation costs are 27% higher, childcare costs are 35% higher, entertainment costs are 35% higher, clothing is 15% more expensive. Factoring in needing to find a job, relocation costs, etc... it's a pretty massive change for a lot of people - because generally the cost of living in these republican states is lower on average than it is in the democrat controlled states. I think we'd be more likely to see "medical tourism" with abortions. States like California and Colorado said they will operate as "abortion sanctuaries" where people can come from out of state to get the procedures done. Some companies - including Amazon - say they'll pay for the transportation costs if their employees need to go out of state for abortion if the final ruling comes out as basically the same as this leaked draft.

  5. Going to Italy in September! Rome and the area around Bari. I've never been south of Naples, so I'm looking forward to it because every time I've been to Italy it's been fucking fantastic & this'll be new.

  6. There was talk a couple of years back about trying to make it illegal to smoke in your own back yard over here... Might get to the stage where little underground smoking pubs are needed like when prohibition was around but for smokers...

  8. Jesus... A local Bobby on his bike, policing used to be better then in my opinion as they knew everyone in the area and sort of guided you away from trouble if they could.. I remember when I got my first 'Fizzy50' and I rode it up to the school to show off to my mates and our local Bobby was at the station and he came over to take a look, I thought NO!!! , I was totally illegal at the time, no tax, insurance or licence He gave it the once over and said "nice bike, that will be worth a nick later..." I took the hint and fucked off sharpish.. Still used to ride it around the streets at night though with my mates and down all the back ally's and stuff just not so much during the day..

  14. Take some food pics. I've never been to Italy, but flew over it a few times. I think if I'd go to Italy for a week, I'd come back 10kg heavier with all the Pizza and Pasta I'd consume.

  15. I stopped smoking years ago, and I also understand why it was banned in most of indoor public venues, but for me, a pub/bar room full of smoke is part of the atmosphere and it's just not the same without it

  16. I remember when they banned smoking on the lower deck of the bus and you could only smoke upstairs, get on the bus early morning to go to work and the lower deck was full so you made your way upstairs and it was like walking into a fog, smoke everywhere, you couldn't see a seat and people were coughing and spluttering and the smoke stinging your eyes. Then they banned smoking in buses and the bus driver had to go upstairs as he knew people that got on the bus and headed straight upstairs were going to the back of the bus to have a sly cigarette, hear a load of shouting and some guy coming down the stairs telling the bus driver to "FUCK OFF..." then storming off the bus.

  17. Bruno's Or Da Bruno da Cabopino. The one in Fuengirola has shut permanently, but Cabopino one is in Marbella. Marbella itself worth the visit for a day I'd say. Probably won't need more than that.

  18. Not long now, only 24 hours and I'll be on that plane . Is Marbella worth the visit? I'm gona pop down there on Monday I think since I haven't been there yet. Also this restaurant in Fuengirola, did you find out the name in the end? @Stan

  19. Yup. Just read up on it. Only three states (Northrine-Westphalia, Bavaria and Saarland) have banned it completely. In the 13 other states, it's still allowed in adjoining rooms (In Restaurants) or in pubs that don't exceed a certain size.

  20. And pubs. In some states here in Germany, it's still allowed to smoke in pubs that only serve drinks. Coming from a state where it's been banned for years, it's a surreal throwback experience.

  22. I remember people smoking on airplanes and trains when I was a kid. Seems surreal now.

  23. Yea.. back in the day you could smoke anywhere, At your desk, on the bus, while you were doing a job etc.. just anywhere you fancied really there were no rules then... You used to get sent to the local off licence by your mum to pick up fags and they served you even though you were only 10 years old... it was either that or have the embarrassment of watching her walk up there herself on a Sunday night in a dressing gown, slippers and curlers...

  26. Jumped out the bedroom window when I got caught by the Bobby on his Bike fighting and pulled me home by the ear and handed me over to my mum, she gave me a clip round the ear and sent me to my bedroom. Thus I jumped out the window and met up with my pals, luck was not on my side this time as the same Bobby caught me again, dragged me home by the ear again and then I got another clip around the ear by my mum and told to sit in the lounge where she could keep an eye on me.

  31. It'll immediately become illegal in 22 states I heard. So while other states might be a bit more 'liberal', the fact that nearly half of the country immediately bans abortion by law is where a huge problem arises in the short-term.

  40. Reports that Pakistan may join the Saudi coalition against Yemen after this joint statement from visit of new PM with MBS. This all gives legitimacy to Khan's claim that U.S was behind his ousting. MBS is in a strong position, Erdogan is also fixing ties for economic relief like us and US UK need him to do something about oil prices. He'll get his terms Apart from the moral argument of joining probably the worst blockade right now. Its detrimental in so many ways.
