The answer is a firm yes and no. Principally clubs (organised as eV) are considered non-profit, most clubs decided to hive off their pro departements to companies (GmbH, AG, KGaA), though. These companies are considered profit-orientated in contrast to their mother clubs. On a side note only Schalke, Union, Mainz, and Freiburg are still pure eV's in the Buli, as far as I know.1 point

Ah cheers for that. Wasn't aware he'd signed an extension. Shame Hamburg didn't go up for Glatzel to smash the Bundesliga.1 point

I really liked the RE2 remake, though the only thing that I feel they messed up on was the story how they link up with each other. In the original, you basically had different paths for each one and there would be some points where they link (for example, different weapons being taken). In this one however, they seem to be very similar regardless of which one you start with. Both fight the same bosses in the same location and some parts make no sense.1 point

Also not to rub it in or anything @Tommy but the friendship between Reading & Dusseldorf was founded on acts of kindness where Leicester are twinned with 6 other cities that were only based on their compatibility with Population, Ethnicity and Employment sectors which is about as boring as it gets...1 point

He is just upset @Tommy because Leicester are twinned with Krefeld which sounds far less glamorous...1 point

The friendship started when the Mayor of Reading, Phoebe Cusden, answered a call from the Royal Berkshire Regiment, then occupying Düsseldorf, for help for people who were hungry and homeless following the war. She sent help, visited Düsseldorf, and invited six children to stay.1 point

Probably doesn't, but the flip side is that arguably this remake could be the easiest one to do, seeing as it's the that gave us the camera angle that we generally have now. Also, I'd be willing to buy this as I've never really played it much. I did a bit of the beginning and that was it.1 point

So, what are everybody’s thoughts regarding incomings and outgoings? To go - Mane (likely), Oxlade-Chamberlain, Origi, Minamino (possibly). To arrive - A CM & CAM, another forward or two depending on if Taki leaves. My targets would be Nkunku, he would be excellent for us as that goal scoring midfielder. I like the sound of this Sangare fella, but I still think Bissouma could come and do a great job here. He’s into the final year of his Brighton contract so it wouldn’t be impossible. If Mane leaves I think we need to try and get Lewandowski in for a couple of seasons as part of the deal. If he is keen, it makes a lot of business sense and he’ll score bucket loads. As for another attacker to replace Origi & Minamino in the squad, I don’t have anybody in particular in mind, though Rondon is out of contract this summer isn’t he?1 point

It's basically a proxy war at this point. Russia's lost a significant amount of it's standing army, but Ukraine's lost a lot of people as well and yesterday Zelensky said they're losing 60-100 troops a day. In a war of attrition where your proxy force is suffering large losses a day, the people helping the proxy will need to give the proxy better and better weapons. One big difference between Afghanistan for the US and Ukraine for Russia is the staggering amount of loss that Russia's felt in a few months. But it's also largely in part because Ukraine's military is significantly better equipped and organised than Afghanistan... and they've got overwhelming international support. But yeah, Putin's going to keep changing goal posts and claim victory - but clearly the West is unwilling to not help Ukraine fight so Russia doesn't go back to putting puppets in power in Ukraine/seize more land in Europe. The US is very much trying to maximise the hurt Russia feels before Putin decides he needs to take the next exit. And I don't think Russia's going to be able to get anything like serious sanctions relief until Putin is no longer in charge - so I suspect Russia will still feel some hurt from this war even after it is over.1 point

Not had that experience with Windows, but do remember the days of having to continuously swap disks to play Amiga games. That was a sodding nightmare. That was also good. Used to go with my mum to a local video shop and rent the odd film or so. Was good times indeed.1 point

I don't understand what arming teachers would do... other than result in some teacher that has finally snapped after dealing with these little shits all day pulling out the gun and blasting some kids. The police in the US are armed... there was even a heavy police presence at the school where the shooting was. What happened with all of these armed police? They were too scared to actually act when there was an active shooter. They sat around the car park scratching their arses, harassing the concerned parents of children stuck in the school with the gunmen, and waited for Border Patrol (for some reason) to turn up and deal with it. What the fuck is an untrained teacher going to do? Also are the guns going to be secure? If it's not secure, there's the risk of kids getting those guns that should be held by teachers and shooting other people. If it is secure, that takes away from the possible response time a teacher would have if a gunman stormed into their classroom. And again... it's an untrained teacher. Not a military trained sniper. Not even a poorly trained police officer. If those cops with assault rifles and body armour were too fucking scared to respond to an active shooter... what on earth would ANYBODY expect some random teacher to do in that situation? Aside from demented people, who obviously should not be able to get guns... there's just too many guns in the US that don't really serve the purpose gun owners claim they need. Why does anyone need an AR-15 or an AK-47 other than for killing people? Not hunters - they're not good weapons for hunting. Not people who "want to defend their families," something like a shotgun would probably do just fine for that - effective at defense, needs less ammo, easier to aim, easier to clean, less likely to jam, etc. Assault weapons are designed to just make killing people as easy as possible for combat. Your average everyday arsehole off the street doesn't need an AK-47 to protect themselves, they don't need it to hunt, the only real reason to have one is to kill people. There's no reason why these weapons should be able to be purchased by ordinary people, they belong in the hands of military troops and specially trained police.1 point

Go watch videos of people killing several people with a gun. Then watch the same with a knife or a bat. It's night and day. Guns are effortless. It is outrageously difficult and personal to kill someone with a blunt or bladed weapon. A gun makes it easy to kill several people. Too easy. It's not a power people should have.1 point

3 dead and many injured as a train de-railed in the Alps... The train was heading northwards to Munich at around 12.15pm today (Friday) when several carriages rolled off the tracks in the Burgrain district of Loisachauen, near the resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Local press BR24 is reporting that a rescue operation has begun. A spokesperson for the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district office told local outlets a total of 60 people were being treated with injuries - of which sixteen had been deemed serious. Federal police said they had not yet established why the train had derailed, but BR24, a Bavarian news site, said that a large contingent of students may have been travelling because of the holidays. Ömer Toprak will leave the club in the summer. The right decision, in my opinion. He's good when he's fit, but unfortunately, that's not usually the case We offered him a performance-based contract, but couldn't agree terms in the end.0 points
