  1. This was posted as 'a question on my 5th grade brothers exam'. This took me way longer then Id like to admit to figure out...now I understand why the show "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader" exists....

  3. Not a fact, but rather an amazing infographic - Viet Cong tunnel systems during the Vietnam War.

  4. At least they didn't shoot them down. So by now the Aliens must know, Europeans = good, Americans = bad. I can live with that.

  5. I still can't believe he was allowed to play in that game after the first injury. Madness.

  6. It would be hilarious if they accidentally shot down their own experimental new tech, so that's why I hope this is the case and they are withholding it from the public because it would be fucking embarrassing

  7. Well, you could definitely say that doing tax forms is by far more useful for the general population compared to quadratic equations, so the joke's on them! Personally, I like and also prefer using equations in problem solving. I absolutely adored the logic course at the uni with the truth tables etc. for that reason alone I like the efficiency and clearly defined parameters.

  8. My brain doesnt put things into an equation like that but as you lay it out that definitely makes more sense. Funny enough my mom gave me my highschool transcript the other day... was a blast from the past but the one glaring thing was a reminder that I took grade 11 math twice and settled for what we called math "essentials" - dumbed down math but gives you a passing grade. We did stuff like tax forms instead of quadratic equations for example Math was definitely not my forte.

  9. My mental process was essentially the same, converting it into an equation just makes it faster...

  10. Yeah, I think part of it is most of us are too far removed from solving simple problems. Once you see it its actually fairly straight forward, hence I felt dumb My first thought was theres information missing here ... no, no there is not.

  11. Yea, supporting young talented girls in karting and make sure they have the funds to keep competing in higher categories would be much better. Like Carrie for instance. She was a promising talent in F4. And I'm not sure why she didn't continue in Formula Sport, but if I had to guess I'd say funding had something to do with it.

  12. Nothing against her and any other driver taking part, but it just shows how ludicrous the whole concept is if they are signing drivers in their mid-20s with no chance of ever making it to F1. Don't really get the point of that.

  16. With him stalling over a contract it's inevitable that others will see the opportunity to swoop in and someone close might try and spin that to him as a positive in the negotiations but I couldn't see him performing any better than he does for us anywhere else.. For me he is limited, a good solid player but lacking any real improvement in recent seasons, He still makes bad choices, poor passes and his goal scoring contribution/assists leaves a lot to be desired I would have hoped given his game time he would have improved those aspects of his game by now.. There is a lot I like about Mount but it's like he is either playing within himself and not pushing himself enough or he has in fact reached his limit. Getting picked as a regular has probably given him the impression he is almost un-droppable and in the games played department he is certainly worth more than the alleged 80K he is currently on but trying to push for 300K and upward as is being reported is just silly.. You would need to have Eden Hazard/Frank Lampard levels of skill and performance to be demanding that much a week. I have to agree with Cicero on the new recruits observation as well, Once these players start gelling together I think his contributions may lessen as he will look a step behind everyone else and although he has very much looked the promising part with the old squad he may well seem a little out of place with the new.. I hope the new arrivals will inspire him to do better if he indeed has it in him, The Oscar similarity is pretty accurate, capable of great moments here and there but not anywhere consistent enough with them across the course of the season...

  17. It's definitely interesting, but as you can imagine, it's also pretty touristy with souvenir shops and whatnot and so they kinda rush you through it all. The guide was pretty proud to demonstrate all the traps though, at that moment I was glad I'm not American, tbh I enjoyed it though, and going into the tunnel was something I wanted to do, so it was still worth a trip for me! Just completely mind-blowing and sobering when you realise that people actually lived there, cooked food, slept, had children, hospitals, etc. Must have been extremely tough...

  18. He really is another Oscar. Jack of all trades, master of none. Just about finding the best use for him.

  19. Oooh that must have been interesting! But yea, I can imagine. But all of these traps somehow reminded me of Home Alone.

  23. One of the most poignant events in all of that was when he appointed Francisco Rufete (a past Valencia star) as technical director for sport and the club saw improvement. But the players Rufete was bringing in were being sold on within the following transfer window. Rufete went public when the fans started to place the blame on him and then a month later he was fired. we’re talking about a personality (Peter Lim) that doesn’t understand all of this and tbh, the Valencia CF fan club were told by both Bancaixa and local government that they’d done their due diligence on Peter Lim and that he was the worst possible option. In the end they gave into fan pressure and the rest is history. This guy is using the club as a guarantee for authenticity in Europe. It’s not unusual. The same is occurring on a much larger scale with Man City and PSG, the difference being that the Qatari consortiums are a lot cleverer and more in tune with the stupidity of us football fans.

  24. Very crafty... Those tunnels in general are the stuff that nightmares are made of. I went to the ones that are already adapted to the tourists, and the experience was still claustrophobic af
