  2. One of the reasons why Portugal had it relatively easy in 2016, no disrespect to Croatia Wales etc This 24 team format awards mediocrity in the KO bracket.

  4. I'm sorry that we absolutely decimated you in the last Euro's, but you got the dodgy goal decision in 2010, now is time to let it go.

  8. I wish it was fine... We have been totally off the pace in our games, lacking cohesion, desire and direction.. I was hoping we could build some momentum after the first game and show a bit more promise but we have 45 minutes left of the group stages and we are exactly the same...

  9. I've been impressed by them. They've got some very good players in that midfield. Baumgartner and Sabitzer have been excellent.

  11. Foden gets another bite of the cherry, he’s been one of the worst performers in the team. Gordon must be pulling his hair out.

  13. Well done to @Tommy and @MUFC on top scoring. It is all very close at the top now. At least Aston Martin are doing well somewhere.

  14. Results - Spanish Grand Prix No predictions this week from @Whiskey. Qualifying saw most people pick up 5 points with Lando Norris bagging pole position, with or without Max Verstappen being removed from the results. @RandoEFC, @Stan, @MUFC, @Tommy, @nudge, @The Palace Fan and @OrangeKhrush were all on the mark here. The race saw a non-Verstappen podium of Norris, Hamilton and Russell. @MUFC, @Tommy and @OrangeKhrush profited most here, picking up ten points for having the two younger Brits in exactly the right place. @Coma was the only person to pick up 2 points for Norris anywhere other than 1st, while @DeadLinesman was the only person to predict Hamilton on the podium at all. Unfortunately, due to Ferrari letting him down, these were his only points of the weekend. @RandoEFC, @Stan, @nudge and @The Palace Fan bagged 5 points for Norris but were otherwise let down by Ferraris or Sergio Perez. This week's random driver was Logan Sargeant and once again we see one predictor hoover up all of the points themselves. @Coma's bold prediction of 20th place required all drivers to complete the Spanish Grand Prix and, for the second year running, they did. I probably would have given him the points if Sargeant was 20th via retiring first from the race to be fair. The bonus question was to pick which of Alpine, Haas, Williams and Sauber would score the most points this weekend. Alpine answered this question emphatically with a double points finish, faster than RB and Aston Martin as well as the teams included in the options. 5 points each go to @Stan, @Tommy, @MUFC, @nudge and @Coma for calling this one correctly. The updated standings see change at the top of both tables. A second consecutive low-scoring week for @RandoEFC sees @OrangeKhrush return to the top of the Drivers' Championship. @Tommy makes up good ground as this week's joint-highest scorer with @Stan keeping himself in contention as well. @nudge has overtaken @DeadLinesman while @MUFC, the second competitor to register 20 points this week, has gone from being well adrift at the bottom to being within 10 points of the top half of the standings. A miserable week for McLaren marks a big shift in the Constructors' Championship. This week's top scorers Red Bull obliterated a 23-point deficit and are now joint 2nd with the previous leaders. Aston Martin's solid haul of 27 points sees them edge in front. Mercedes remain in contention with 30 points. Unfortunately for Ferrari, they only get 1 extra point as insurance for @Whiskey's no-show as the rule is 1 point less than the lowest score so send your regards to @DeadLinesman for scoring just 2 points this weekend. We're on a triple header now so keep your eyes out tonight/tomorrow for Austria's predictions.

  15. £20m for Kellyman is not ridiculous, he’s arguably top 5 prospect in this country. Villa have built this over 5 years, we have recruited aggressively at youth level and loaned players out to make them valuable and sell on as we knew the PSR is a glass ceiling, and we need to catch up with the “big 6” economically. Nobody said anything last year when we flogged Carney for £20m & Ramsey for £20m etc We’ve also flogged Douglas Luiz for £30m plus two players to Juventus but nobody is talking about that one. Tim to Everton is fair at £9m he’s had a season in the championship where he did well and only got limited minutes at Villa last year, he’s not good enough for a CL side so he’s moved on. Bogarde is £4m again good potential young CB very combative. We have a stable of kids in our academy now. expect £30-£40m in sales every year it’s what it’s been designed for

  16. As you said, they'll look to close a loophole. They need to look like they have some form of authority whilst the government are planning to introduce an independent regulator even though the horse has bolted. A review would be pointless, how far back do you want to go, Man City selling several young players for high fees to Southampton? Bournemouth's bizarre valuation of Liverpool's players by a man who now works for Liverpool? The several deals between Udinese and Watford? Clubs have been doing this for years, it's just Chelsea have once again ruined it for everybody by paying a ridiculous fee for an Aston Villa player.

  17. I said it myself. We don't value a balanced team at international level at all. Too obsessed with individuals and who does or doesn't miss out. If England's strongest and most balanced XI omits Foden or Alexander-Arnold (for arguments sake) then so be it. Tough shit.

  18. Everyone seems to want it to be this really exciting case, and I agree there are some irregularities in the stories, but that's for authorities to decide, not Sandra from Luton.

  19. TABLE AFTER ROUND 2 @Viva la FCB just about clings on to top spot but the gap is now reduced to 2 points, as @Dan scored 20 points to climb to 2nd place. Also scoring 20 points was @The Palace Fan who shot up to 8th. But bettering those scores were @LFCMike who propels himself up to 3rd and only 3 points off top spot, and also @Spike who goes from 25th place to 12th place. Fewer shocks than Round 1 led to quite a few perfect scores - @LFCMike, @JoshBRFC, @Devil, @Spike all scoring 3 perfect scores. Particular shout-outs to @JoshBRFC and @OrangeKhrush being the only ones to correctly predict a 1-1 draw between Czech Republic and Georgia, whilst the same goes for @Tommy who correctly guessed Austria's 3-1 victory over Poland. Small margins across the table as only 4 points separate 4th to 12th ,and then 3 points separating 13th to 22nd. A big week like any of those above can make a huge difference...
