  1. We are back. The weekly game where you pick a single or a double, a hypothetical betting game. No obligation to play each week which doesn't affect the table too badly as with the very nature of the table you can drop further by playing. You could in theory win the league playing once all season! This years rule I've decided is you get a choice of stake - £5, £10 or £20 rather than just a blanket £10. If we get enough interest this week I'll do one starting for this weekend. First things first however, we have a final table from 2023/24, and our winner is @Lucas Congratulations also to @Pyfish who did profit overall for the season too. Less said about me the better. Fuck me. I think you could play this for half a century and not do that badly over a whole season again.

  2. I can only assume at this point that Chelsea are getting around PSR by paying for this one with £20m in Bitcoin and then 2 hotels delivered in installments over a period of 18 years.

  3. It's not just an issue in soccer football but also in other sports here like basketball and American football. The parents on the sidelines don't seem to have any respect for the refs, regardless of the sport. The kids see that and think it's OK. We have teenage refs that are getting bollocked by grown-ass adults and it's ridiculous.

  4. Yeah I am massively like "you guys wanted Brexit and insisted it would solve all our problems, it's only made things worse, and you still expect to be listened to?". Dickheads.

  5. Are all NHLers playing in the next Olympics? If so, that will be cool to watch. The gap between US and Canada is quickly closing.

  6. I don't really like either, but I'll vote winter because of that film about the Jamaican bobsled team.

  8. https://www.beinsports.com/en-mena/football/bundesliga/articles/german-football-adopts-euro-2024-referee-rule-2024-07-16 German football adopts Euro 2024 referee rule A rule that only a team captain can talk to referees, introduced at Euro 2024, will be applied to all levels of German football, the German FA (DFB) has announced. Under the rule, players who approach a referee to discuss a decision will be given yellow cards. The German FA said the rule would be adopted in both men's and women's football from the professional level through to local leagues. The rule, designed to promote more respect for referees and clearer interactions with match officials, was implemented in all UEFA club competitions early in July. Several yellow cards were handed out for non-captains approaching referees at Euro 2024. A total of 161 yellows were handed out in the group stages alone. At Euro 2020, the total for the entire tournament was 151. Ansgar Schwenken, the Director of Match Operations and Fans at the Bundesliga, said the rule was "the logical step for more fairness and respect."

  9. I agree. This is a huge problem at the grass roots level just trying to get someone, anyone, to ref games nowadays. I get emails every week during my boys' season asking for referee help.

  14. I think this is a good idea. Whether you like referees or not the disrespect they get is terrible. And the amount of people refereeing is down due to that disrespect which decreases the quality of refereeing.

  15. @CaaC (John) first of all 2.Liga stars next week , Buli doesn't though. Still time. By the way Köln can't be relegated from Buli because they're 2.Liga already.
