  1. Now they are making it look like it's their own decision to ground the planes out of concern for safety and are even trying to take credit for it... Can hardly get any lower than that.

  2. I will look into it mate as I'm going to need to get some changed myself due to going to Dam again in a couple of weeks. Eurochange is local so that's the main reason I use them. Where are you off to pal? Anywhere decent? I was originally planning to go to Barcelona for this trip for 3 days, but the flights and everything works out pretty shit now unless I flew from Liverpool(which is a farce to get to if getting a train, Manchester is far easier), although since this is the third time I've been to Amsterdam in the last 3.5 months, I'm going to have to head somewhere else next time definitely. I probably won't go to Amsterdam again until December now and will go somewhere else inbetween, probably somewhere in Spain but I've also been flirting with Lisbon since I've never been to Portugal and think it's a country(and City in terms of Lisbon) that would suit me. @Machado would also be up for a beer, unlike @Panna King who won't hit De Wallen with me when I'm in his city...

  3. That's what actually bothers me most - they are very obviously putting money before safety despite the rest of the world having serious concerns (and I'm not talking about media "scaremongering" or lay persons delving into it; I mean if the majority of aviation experts worldwide is concerned enough to disrupt the entire global air traffic then it's probably safe to say that those concerns are not unfounded...). What I've been hearing is that Boeing's main selling point for those planes was the fact that it didn’t require additional training for someone who was already certified to fly a 737 (otherwise the pilots need to undergo weeks of additional training both in the aircraft and the simulator to get certified to fly it; all that costs airlines a lot of time and money). It wasn't very honest though as due to the changes in the plane design (larger and more powerful engines were moved forward and higher up and the nose was extended), the handling of the jet in certain situations also changed slightly so Boeing added the MCAS (the anti-stall system) to counter those changes. In order to really enforce this sales pitch that flying the new Max doesn't require new pilot certification, they neglected to mention the new MCAS (and the way it can be disabled) in the flight crew operation manual and so a lot of pilots were caught completely off-guard. It is speculated to be the reason behind the previous Indonesian crash as allegedly the MCAS was getting incorrect data from a sensor and kept "correcting" the pitch (i.e. bringing the plane's nose down) so much that the pilots couldn't overcome it with manual controls (and couldn't disable the MCAS as they were not informed of its existence/weren't trained to), leading to complete loss of control and a crash. The Ethiopian crash seems to have happened under very similar conditions and there was a number of similar incidents previously were the pilots were able to correct the issue mid-air. It all makes Boeing look very bad; along with the fact that even after those incidents they still keep on denying any potential safety issues instead of suggesting to ground and investigate the fleet thoroughly. I mean that's 1% of the fleet lost in less than 6 months with over 300 human lives lost; I just can't grasp it.

  5. The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec (2010) A french fantasy-adventure film written and directed by Luc Besson tells the story of Adèle Blanc-Sec, a journalist and travel writer who seeks to find and revive the mummy of the physician of Ramses the Great in order to save her comatose sister. A lot of comical relief and good-hearted old school adventure. That's what all comic book adaptations should look like. Never even heard about this film before... Positively surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it! Luc Besson meets Indiana Jones kind of movie 8/10

  7. I wasn't aware of that. It's actually admirable how wonderful is English is then. It is a brutal read as the book progress. I actually enjoyed it - not something I thought of the book when I started it.

  8. Wrestlemania card lookin like... Title matches Rollins Vs Lesnar for universal title (Rollins to win) Bryan vs Kingston for WWE Championship (could be a 4 way though, with Owens and Ali) (Kofi to win) Samoa Joe vs Rey Mysterio for the US title (again, others could be added) (Rey to win) Not too sure with the IC title. I was hoping for Balor vs Elias, but it looks like Lashley vs someone. Probably Balor (whoever isn't Lashley to win) The revival vs 2 black men for the raw tag titles. (Black and Ricochet to win) The Usos vs someone or other for the Smackdown titles. Putting the New day on the card is the obvious, but I'd like to see Sanity here. (who ever the Uso's face to win) Asuka in a triple threat vs Mandy vs Sonya for the Smackdown title. (My blonde wet dream to win) Rousey vs Becky vs Charlotte for the raw championship (Becky to win) Bayley and Banks vs the Iiconics maybe? (Iiconics to win if so) Other matches HHH vs Batista in a match between 2 80 year olds no one asked for that would have been only okay 10 years or so ago (HHH to win the egotistical prick) Angle vs probably big match John (angle to win) Miz vs Shane (Miz to win) Drew McIntyre vs Reigns (PLEASE let Drew win. Rollins will need a credible threat to feud with and this is how to put him over) Elias vs the crowd Possibly Natalia and Phoenix vs the fatties in another match we could all live without. Looks mediocre.

  10. Well @Mel81x, after numerous deaths of trying to get everything in one go, I finally managed to pull it off. Got my key item, got my grenade launcher and managed to get the three main items required to progress in the game. I did have a moment of madness as I searched around for the best part of an hour wondering what the hell I do next.......... before realising that due to utter panic of the amount of zombies coming through windows, trying to eat me and legging it asap, I missed one door that held the item required to get one of the three key items. The same room however gave me a much needed green herb as well, meaning that I could finally get my health back up to full after mixing with a red herb. Now I have a fair bit of pistol ammo, a grenade launcher with both flame and acid rounds, a first aid spray and five ink ribbons (as I'm on Hardcore mode). Getting there now.

  11. Watched a lot of videos from that 90s WWE last night. Before I knew it, I'd watched about an hour's worth of clips

  12. It's also worth noting that Conrad was not a native English speaker and only learned it in his twenties; that's impressive to see how he mastered the language but it also might explain why his style was too heavy on metaphors and felt a bit pretentious overall. I was never a fan of the modernist stream of consciousness style in literature (except Knut Hamsun's Hunger) anyway and my enjoyment of Heart of Darkness suffers a lot from that but at least it's still readable and the plot is interesting and quite fascinating. Marcel Proust's In Search of Lost Time is THE "modern classic" that I just couldn't read - getting through one novel was tough, all seven volumes is nearly impossible.

  13. 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople' ( available on YouTube for free ) You know when you get one of those hidden gems of a film that normally goes under the radar that you have never heard of before well this was one of them.. Just had the tv on Film 4 while I was sorting a few things out last night and it caught my attention so much I stopped what I was doing and started watching it.. Basically it's about a young boy who is a bit of a misfit with no parents being moved from foster home to foster home and gets his last chance with a coupe of who live on the wilderness farm of New Zealand out of harms way.. an unexpected turn of events lead to them going on the run into the wilds of New Zealand while a nationwide manhunt led by child services welfare officer Paula ( Rachel House ) takes place to track them down.. A kind of a Comedy Drama starring Sam Niell as Hec and Julian Dennison as Ricky Baker with some genuine laughs throughout... really enjoyed it and would recommend, some of the New Zealand scenery is amazing... 10/10

  14. If they knew about the glitch but didn't do anything, then some Boeing execs and engineers should be going to prison. I've just seen my next business trip is supposed to be on one of these planes … hopefully the FAA removes it's head from it's anus, so I won't be flying on a plane that 45 other countries, including the one I'm from, thinks is too unsafe.
