This is terrible for people with OCD. Luckily I don't have a fear of germs so I can manage but for people who do it is so hard to know what is right and what is wrong at the moment.

I already had couple of tiny dry, grey patches on my palms way before this started because of my constant hand washing thing. I had reduced them by controlling myself after my dermatologist had warned me. I used to also put coconut oil on them before shower on weekends, to reduce the dry patches.

Now my hand washing frequency has again increased, and my palms look absolutely wrinkled, with few grey patches.

And I have almost fallen off the bus twice, because my mind refuses to let my hands grab the handle while boarding or alighting from the bus.

Not to mention the constant fear of everything being contaminated. Reckon I am going to turn into something similar to what happened to Leo's character in Aviatar when he locked himself in that room.

Just try to remember mate keep it reasonable. Being a bit extra careful is what most are doing but don't wash your hands till they are bleeding.

I have OCD but thankfully not having any issue myself. I'm calm despite everything. The only thing is that it hasn't sunk in what is happening around the world. It's a nightmare!

There was a guy at work who said he was self isolating but he has OCD and I'm pretty certain he just couldn't handle it. I have OCD around touching certain things but it more to with not liking the idea of certain things being on my hand it's not necessarily bacteria so I can manage this.

106 in intensive care in London.

Something like 75% men.

Funny as I reckon my gf has what I have now but she only has sore throat and occasional cough whereas I reckon I've got very mild pneumonia if such a thing is possible.

So, Sean Riggott, Portsmouth defender, was sat in a pub on Friday night. He finds out he has coronavirus while at the pub. With several other people. Several friends no doubt.

The same day earlier in the day pubs were asked to shut and several days before people were told to socially distance themselves.

I despair. People just won't get the idea to stop fucking going out for fun until this place gets locked down with only keeping supermarkets/hospitals open. You just cannot trust people. God knows how many people he's passed it on to.

Gotta remind people (well, shouldn't have to) - at this stage people need to act like they have the virus, not act like they don't have it and take their chances in avoiding it.

It really angers me people can't see the fucking diseased elephant in the room and not use some fucking common sense. For the good of society and the world and not themselves for once.

Estrogen most likely.

It was the same in the research on mice with SARS and MERS too.

I got an email from the Canadian rescue mission or whatever it's called. Was expecting a call in to the airport but it was just them saying "we understand your situation". Hopefully they get this sorted soon. Like I probably said, I'd imagine it would be a call up of 8 hours prior.

I'm honestly a bit surprised at the amount of people who are depressed for being forced to stay at home. I get depressed a lot admittedly but it's not because I always stay at home. I get that sadness is natural for being alone for so long. I get it too, but it does surprise me how much people are in need to go out with their friends. Maybe it's because I stay at home a lot normally and my friends are mostly in another country so I've gotten used to it. Interesting (and also worrying) to see.

Excuse me if any of that sounded beyond ignorant xD

Northern Italy went into lockdown March 8th, the rest of Italy March 9th.

My mate is a operating theatre technician for a specialist service hospital and they’ve allocated their role by covid response teams. Basically all special service hospitals will be where co morbidity (an existing illness that is potentially fatal) patients are transferred at a certain point to these hospitals out of general. The  aneathetists have been told  their role is to preside over them while their immune system helps them or they die. Prioritising like Italy will be for ventilators and icu to go to others based on criteria.

to quote the Him “theres fuck all we’re going to be able to  do except watch them die, it causes sepsis of the lungs and at that point there’s fuck all they can do for you”

I think we will be at 1000 by next Friday

I'm an introvert and I have three house mates to keep me company. Not looking forward to it in the slightest if it happens here. You can be an introvert and still need the face to face contact of a mixture of people and colleagues and stuff in your daily life, not to mention the fresh air and change of scenery. In fact that's eminently normal.

I think it's just me really. I try not to be an introvert a lot but when I do I'm reminded why I'm like this.

It's really about finding something to do at home. I have plenty of activities to keep me entertained while I'm trapped in Peru so I'm not too upset at the moment.

In related (kind of news), we only get immediate family at my mums funeral. It will be in the church, blessing, straight out and burial. No frills. Absolutely gutted for her, but soon they’ll be people not even getting that, so you’ve got to take the positives.

That's really sad mate but as you say better now than in a month when things are worse. That will be a whole other level of devastating.
