Weirdest thing ever eaten - Silk Worm Pupae. Approved, why? Because it was so crunchy on the outside with bamboo shoot and everything else around it that when you get to the jelly innards you would never be able to tell it was actually a worm of kinds.

Very popular in the North-Eastern part of India (Assam). I ate it at an eco-village where they were adamant that I should try it. Its called "Eri Polu" and when you look at it from a distance they look like little sausages and I had no clue what it was till I was eating my third one. Needless to say I didn't stop.

Did it taste like chicken? xD

No actually, I had it on one of those steak stones and it tasted a bit like a venison steak.

I wouldn't have it again to be fair, just noticed it on the menu and thought I'd give it a whirl.

I'm not mentally prepared for worms and larvae... I'm willing to try different insects, organ meat, half-developed eggs and what not, but that plump appearance of worms is just a no go for me :7_sweat_smile:

Chicken feet was another one for me... Chewy af, all skin, cartilage and tendons, also looks like something from an alien movie. 3/10, the sauce was lovely.

Wtf is weird about chip butty?

I had a meal, I don't know the proper name for it tbh, but it was a boiled cows head. I had about 4 bites, but it was too disturbing and the texture in my mouth was horrible.

Croc and Gator are both quite tasty when done right. They used to serve gator bits at a restaurant we went to in college and imo it was tasty.

Some unusual parts of mutton like tongue, brain, testicles.

Organ meat can be quite tasty. Chicken hearts, for example, are amazing when prepared well. So is liver. Love it.

I've never been anywhere that's sold beans on toast loaded with chips.

Can't believe you've just laughed at beans on toast with chips but are happy to discuss eating Organ meat like that's perfectly fine. :4_joy:

Yes. People here eat anything as long is the animal's meat is allowed :coffee:

Once you get past the feeling that you're eating testicles it is quite tasty. Many aphrodisiac myths are related around these dishes.

Serious question, don't you eat liver in the UK? Not even liver pate or liver sausage?

I love fried liver with a huge pile of perfectly caramelised onions (and maybe apple rings too) and some mash to go with it...

Liver pate on baguette or black bread is indeed great... I usually put some pickles on top of that, too :D

We used to get a bit of Liver for school dinners with onions, gravy and mash... The liver was like the bottom of an old boot and it put me off for life..

Yeah, if not done properly, it can be absolutely vile...

Haven't had liver for years as the wife can't stand looking at it let alone cook it for me. O.o
