Villa Beat Rivals to Terry Signing

Recommended Posts

It would be interesting to see how he would do in the Championship, if he still wants to play and do well he should head to the MLS.

That's not banter. Me calling you David Villa would be an example of banter. JT is a sleaze and should play in Brum or Amsterdam.

It sounds like this is actually happening and he has turned down Villa

100k a week 2 year deal plus a option to manage is what's seriously been reported up here. I think we offered something more sensible, i'd take Terry i think it's a good buy for a sensible contract.

started up a bit of banter though

Although it doesn't always work out him being on twitter

Personally, I think he's finished. There's plenty of decent Championship strikers that will get the better of him. It isn't that shit a division that Terry would dominate it just because he's 'John Terry'

But this is classic Redknapp. If he was still at QPR in the Premier League he'd have tried for Terry.

Needs to just call it a day. Weird watching him play in another kit

A lot of local journalists think we're in the driving seat here. I know Terry does a lot off the field to drive a club forward I'm cautiously optimistic about this happening

Why ruin a career with one club by going to Villa?

It would be a bizarre move for him to drop down to the Championship after such a successful career. He is clearly keeping his options open, and if he was that enthusiastic about a move to either Birmingham or Villa he'd have already accepted the deal on offer...

I'm surprised he's dropping to the Championship when I think he could still get a game at most teams in the bottom half of the Premier League but a good signing for Villa if it goes through.

It's a shocker for me as well, he has enough in the tank to really do well still with a lower table club in the premiership but I think he's going to the championship so he doesn't have to face chelsea out of respect, while still playing in england.

ESPN saying he's joining the Villa

a year contract to I'm happy with it he'll provide some leadership in that dressing room.

I'm jealous you have a real leader for the team, wouldn't be shocked if he honestly leads Aston Villa back to the premiership.

I think we still need cover for jedinak & a creative midfielder/ second striker. But I'd expect a strong challenge otherwise Bruce will get the chop

I thought you were shopping a striker from one of the teams that went down?

Hogan, McCormack & Kodjia plus Gabby & a few kids. My focus would be in an attacking midfielder

Depends if his mind is right, I don't think his wife liked moving from London and chaos ensued and he basically gave up last year

Terry & Hutton in the same defence. Might try and see where I can get Villa to have most booking points this season

Should be a great signing.

Finally replaced Ciaran Clark

He'll give away 4 penalties next year for you

This signing depends whole heartedly on John Terrys motivation. You cannot compare this to the Rio and Caulker link at QPR because of what they both went through.

To be a Chelsea legend and then play for another club must be a really hard thing given the send off he got. Steve Bruce probably sees a lot of himself in John Terry and recognises as a fat old bastard he can't get his message across to the villa players easily. So having John Terry will help.

Terry ruled himself out of playing in the Premier League because he didn't want to play against Chelsea so I know exactly who I'm putting money on Villa drawing in the cup next year.
